Activities at Hyacinth House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Anna Wasiak
I am a friendly and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator with a passion for working with people and making a positive impact in their lives. I joined Hyacinth House in 2024 as a carer and excited to now be the Activities Coordinator. I have eight years experience in hospitality and three years in floristry. I bring creativity, strong interpersonal skills and a warm welcoming approach to my role. My background has given me the ability to connect with individuals, organise engaging activities, and create meaningful experiences that brighten people’s days. I love inspiring others, fostering a sense of community and bringing joy through thoughtful and inclusive activities.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Hyacinth House Care Home

Happy Mothers Day!
To all the mothers, grandmothers and motherly figures out there, we wish you a 'Happy Mother's Day'!

Let's spread some birthday cheer!
This week we had the pleasure of celebrating not one, but two of our wonderful residents' birthdays.
Arthur and Betty are both beloved members of our community at Hyacinth House and 'Celebrating Life' means celebrating our residents birthdays, however they wish. Visiting musician Richard Pearce treated them to individual renditions of Happy Birthday and of course our Chef prepared delicious birthday cakes.
We hope they enjoyed their special days and their personalised gifts, we give warm wishes for many more joyful birthdays ahead.

A trip to Poole Park
Residents and staff enjoyed a walk in Poole Park and were determined despite the weather! Residents stopped to watch the beautiful wildlife whilst sharing their experiences and memories. Tea and cakes were well deserved after the morning stroll.

Keeping fit, staying motivated!
Our residents enjoyed morning exercise with Katie at Love to Move Dorset.
The feedback that we got, it was a really good session. Stretching was a good start to the day for the body and mind
