Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home

Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.

We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.

All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home

Musical therapy

The residents enjoyed a musical therapy session that filled the atmosphere with joy and each one surrendered to their musical senses by playing an instrument and combining these with a hum of rhythms and part of songs. We used our musical instrument box and each one chose an instrument that they later exchanged for another and the music really flowed on its own.

Creating Hanging Baskets

We had a wonderful time creating our hanging baskets for the front of the home. We chose colourful and fragrant plants like fuchsia, petunias and lobelias. We learned how to line the baskets with moss, fill them with compost and water them regularly. We also enjoyed chatting with each other and admiring our handiwork. Our hanging baskets are a source of joy and pride for us.

Virtual event with Art Historian

Residents across our services had a delightful time during a special virtual sensory storytelling event, led by Art Historian Jon Sleigh from the Historic Royal Palaces.

Jon took us on a journey to discover some of the more unusual and unexpected inhabitants of the palaces and the Tower of London, sharing fascinating stories about the pets at the palaces.

Whilst enjoying the virtual experience, our residents were treated to hot beverages, delicious biscuits, berries and cakes.  It was a truly lovely time for all.

Ball Games

Residents of Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View enjoy keeping fit together!  This week we enjoyed a little ball fun as we promoted our well-being and maintaining our flexibility and balance.  It was a lot of fun as we played with colourful balls and aimed for the bucket.  This is a fun-filled group activity.

A floral themed arts and crafts session.

We had a great time making paper flowers today! The residents loved choosing their favourite colours and shapes to create their own floral masterpiece. They used scissors and glue to turn simple coloured card into beautiful blossoms. Then they then painted some greenery and a vase to complete the look. Everyone was proud of their work and shared it with their friends. It was a fun and creative way to enjoy the spring season!

National Vegetarian Week

At Iddenshall Hall we celebrated the vegetarian week with making fresh citrus juices and minibudgets that were very successful for those. The most desired ingredient was beets and hummus, but the combination with the other vegetables was a successful result.
