Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Luisa Painemilla
Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall & Beeston View.
I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.
My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home

Christmas Jumper Day
We are helping to make the world a better place by wearing a festival jumpers today in aid of Save the Children’s annual fundraising event, Christmas Jumper Day.
Our residents have been encouraged to borrow or decorate their own special Christmas jumpers and raise awareness for children in need all around the world.
Some of our residents have been very creative and decorated their own glitzy knitwear with tinsel, stars, baubles and snowflakes. It was a wonderful day, enjoyed by all.

Putting up the decs!
The residents at Iddenshall Hall have spent a very busy week decorating their home for Christmas.
They were so pleased with the results of their hard work that they decided to celebrate a little early with some delicious mince-pies and a little sherry!

Meeting the Reindeers
We got into the Christmas spirit of things by joining a festive live virtual experience, led by Des and Kelly from Performing Pets.
Our residents were thrilled to meet the charming furry friends and get up close and personal with the reindeers.
We certainly learnt some interesting facts about the animals and had a fantastic time.

Wreath Advent
Today at Beeston View we have made an Advent Wreath for our home.
These wreaths are traditionally made of evergreens in a circle symbolizing God's unending love. The candles also have their own special significance and respectively symbolize hope, peace, joy and love. The candles represent the four weeks of Advent, with one being lit each Sunday.
The residents made a beautiful wreath with greenery collected from the gardens and are now patiently waiting to light the first candle this Sunday.

The Elf returns!
So the naughty elf is so 2022! We've had a special visitor today, a helper for Santa, however he's definitely on the naughty list!
We have agreed he can do one naughty thing a day until Christmas! He's got 24 days to behave badly and then the residents and team will pick a winner for the naughtiness day and tell Santa!
Today he was caught trying to drive the homes buggy, housekeeper Sharon tried her best to catch him, but he was too quick!

St Helen's Church choir
Last night I had the pleasure of recording this very emotional, moving moment at Beeston View and Iddenshal Hall during our Christmas Lanterns parade.
We had special guests from St Helen's Church in Tarporley, who gave up their evening to sing carols with the us all. It truly added to the evenings events, so a massive thank you too you all Community engagement is really important to us.
The idea was created by Julie Tuck, one of three of our Activities Coordinators and it couldn't of gone any better. The residents over the last few weeks have been creating their lanterns and have really enjoyed being creative. They looked beautiful!
We finished the evening with mulled wine, slow cooker hot chocolate and mince pies. Some of the team sang a Christmas song.
