Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Celebrating National Baking day
To celebrate this date, we made our own bi-flavoured cookies "orange and chocolate". The residents really enjoyed the recipe, each step, the aroma of the oranges and in the end everyone enjoyed tasting them.
Embracing autumn
Autumn has most definitely arrived! The weather has changed and the nights are drawing in. Our residents embraced the changing seasons from their warm and cosy home by spending a relaxing afternoon chatting about their favourite season whilst painting in water-colours the flowers and fruits of the Autumn.
Edinburgh Botanical Garden
Our homes enjoyed a wonderful virtual tour of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh with Community Engagement Manager, Charlotte Walker, and Botanic Cottage Operations Co-ordinator, Laura Gallagher.
The residents were thrilled to learn more about the history of the beautiful Garden, which is now a home to an impressive plant collection from around the world.
Charlotte and Laura also gave a demonstration of making fresh herbal tea and were happy to answer our questions. The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all who joined.
Beautiful bouquets
Our homes had a fantastic time joining members of the Wallace Collection for an amazing sensory session.
During the live virtual experience, our residents explored one of the museum’s most beautiful Dutch flower paintings and learnt new drawing techniques.
We cannot wait to put our creative skills to a test and produce beautiful paintings of our own.
Everyone enjoyed the lovely talk, we all had lots of fun and it’s given us plenty of ideas.
Book club
Residents enjoyed an interactive book day as they celebrated all things word! Residents chose a section from their chosen book and commented on the author, and sharing the details of their favourite authors and books. It was a lovely social circle!
Watercolour Masterclass
Residents of Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View enjoy their creative arts and craft sessions. These sessions are regularly featured in the homes life enrichment programme.
As the summer comes to an end, residents took advantage of the dry weather to enjoy a watercolour painting session in the homes extensive grounds. The group were inspired by the colours of the season and surrounding landscape.
