Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.
My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Residents get creative
Residents of Beeston View really enjoyed making their individual personalised bookmarks for the New Year, whilst talking about their own personal hopes and wishes for 2021. The activity was both creative and thought provoking and there was also lots of fun, laughter and chat! Arts and crafts is a popular activity for the home as Residents enjoy the sensory experience of the many different colours, textures and paper
Residents create floral displays
Residents of Beeston View recently enjoyed a ‘blooming’ afternoon as they created a selection of floral displays for the homes communal areas. The beautiful flowers fill the room with a wonderful scent.
The residents used their creative flair to create wonderful displays to decorate the communal areas of the home for all to see. It was a colourful session and conversation flowed as they talked about their favourite plants and flowers.
Making bird feeders
The Residents really enjoyed making different shaped birdfeeders using cardboard, peanut butter and bird seed to feed the hungry birds during this really cold and snowy weather. We have positioned them outside the main dining room window so that the Residents can see the birds enjoying the fruits (or the nuts) of their labour!
Intergenerational engagement
Residents were delighted to receive letters, cards and sweetie gifts from their pen pals at Tarporley Pre School and Delamere Academy School. Our year round intergenerational pen pal scheme brings much joy to many all year through
A Solo Performance Christmas Concert
Residents were overjoyed to watch a Solo performance Christmas concert delivered by one of our amazing carers, Lafken.
Lafken plays with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra! The concert brought so much joy to the home and was wonderfully moving and uplifting.
Christmas cake decorating
Residents enjoyed decorating Chef's Christmas cake, we rolled icing and moulded the Christmas Caroler figures. We are all delighted with the results and can't wait to taste our beautiful home made cake
