Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.
Luisa Painemilla
Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall & Beeston View.

I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.
My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Game Day
We had a fun afternoon of games and puzzles at Iddenshall Hall. Residents enjoyed throwing beanbags at targets to see who could score the most points, and they have really liked using the parachute to balance a ball and see how long they can keep it on there before the staff have to retrieve it.
Pamper Afternoon
We hosted a pamper afternoon recently at Iddenshall Hall, where residents were treated to manicures, foot spas, massages and refreshments, whilst watching a film in the Lounge.
Arts & Crafts
We have been hosting arts & crafts sessions at Iddenshall recently. We decided to make some cards for all occasions, particularly focusing on Valentine's Day cards, but also on those that we can use for birthdays and other special occasions. Residents were able to get creative and use all the supplies they wanted. We ended up with some lovely cards and residents enjoyed it so much we did it two days in a row!
The Flowers of Youth
Flower arranging is always a popular activity at Iddenshall Hall and we have become rather creative with our designs, using all sort of things to fill with flowers, including cups and saucers, old jugs and even mugs. They always brighten up the home and put a smile on the faces of residents and visitors alike.
Forget Me Not
We have spent the past couple of weeks creating 'forget me not' memories in the form of photo albums. These are a collation of all the photos from 2017, showing all the fun and interesting things we have done together. Residents were able to help us create the books by cutting out photographs and also sticking them on to brightly coloured paper to put in the albums. It was a lovely way to reminisce about last year and will provide lasting memories for us all.
Santa Comes to Town
We had our regular visit from Santa this year at Iddenshall Hall; he came and dished out presents for all the residents, as well as Christmas cards and lots of festive spirit. Santa is always received well and he was rewarded with lots of hugs, kisses and handshakes.
