Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Kitty Delight
We have had some new additions to our cat family here at Iddenshall Hall; one of our younger cats had a litter of 4 gorgeous kittens. All 4 have got homes already: 2 have gone to staff members and 2 with one of our District Nurses. They are currently all being weaned on to solid foods and are doing really well.
Gentlemen's Club
Our new Gentleman’s Club continues to be a huge success. We recently got together and did some aqua painting, played card games, dominoes and had a question and answer session.
Special Birthday Trip
We took a resident on a very special trip recently to help him celebrate his birthday and also to say thank you to him. He helps us out in the home's gardens every day; it is one of his passions, along with steam trains. So, we went on a surprise trip to Llangollen Railway to enjoy a ride on a steam train. We arranged for a cream tea to be served at our reserved table, and there was even a special reserved sign with his name on. Our Gardener, Chris, came along to enjoy the day with us as well, as they have been working so closely together.
He had no idea where we were going until we got there, and when he found out what we had planned his face lit up! He smiled from ear to ear throughout the whole day. We treated him to a souvenir of his special day too: a limited edition, signed print of a steam train, which he chose himself. We will get it framed for him to keep in his room at Iddenshall Hall.
We have a brand new look!
Our home has recently finished being refurbished, so we celebrated with live entertainment. There was some dancing and lots of singing from residents, and they also enjoyed a delicious BBQ.
Getting Creative
We are continuing our arts and crafts Sessions at Iddenshall Hall and the residents are enjoying being creative. We have some very talented residents who produce some amazing artwork.
Open Day
To help us celebrate our Open Day in June, we arranged musical entertainment from John Hughes. Residents always enjoy his visits! As it was also the Queen’s Birthday on the same day, there were a lot of patriotic songs and everyone was happy to join in.
