Activities at Kingswood Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Baking Cupcakes
The residents have been busy baking delicious cupcakes and muffins. They helped to measure out the ingredients and mixed it all together.
Once they were baked we practised our piping skills – it was very sticky! We then decorated the cakes with lots of sweet treats.
Later in the day the residents enjoyed their creations with a nice cup of tea.

Residents enjoy a day out at Grimsby Farm
We went on an outing to Grimsby Farm and loved seeing all the animals. It was a bit chilly but the sun shone and we enjoyed a drink and a piece of cake at the café before going on a stroll around the farm looking at all the animals. It was a lovely day!

Joyce’s 107th birthday celebrations
Our lovely resident Joyce celebrated her 107th birthday in style earlier this month with the help of hundreds of people around the world who sent her birthday cards. Surrounded by close friends, residents and staff at Kingswood Court, Joyce was delighted to celebrate her special day with everyone. She was very touched by everyone’s kindness and had a lovely word to all. Sharing her secret for such a long life, she said: “Work hard and live well, that is what I did.”
Thank you to everyone who answered her appeal to get Joyce 107 cards on her special day!

Sports Day fundraising effort wins a gold!
Participants were awarded a signed certificate and a medal, and everyone got rewarded for their efforts with a delicious buffet from our Chef.

Celebrating D Day
On D-Day anniversary, Kingswood Court celebrated the veterans and their families.
David, son of our resident Gloria Needham, gave a speech about his grand-father’s history of the landing in Normandy. British Legion’s member Ian gave a talk about the RAF role’s in the war.
Residents then enjoyed a delicious lunch and celebrated with a party all afternoon.
