Activities at Kingswood Court Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Animals visit at Kingswood Court

We absolutely loved having Melissa over with all her little animals in the care home! Our residents enjoyed the company of a lamb, guinea pigs, mouse, lizards and more. Everyone loved stroking them and hearing about their story.

Our residents were surprised in their rooms with the animals and were totally smitten, wishing they could have kept them all!

Celebrating Cocktail Day

On Monday 13th May we celebrated International Cocktail Day with fruity mocktails and healthy smoothies in the lounge.

Ladies gathered to sip their favourite drinks and we had a lovely time chatting and reminiscing about our favourite drinks and places to enjoy them. It brought back memories from celebrations and holidays, it was lovely.

Kingswood Court celebrates VE Day

We had a lovely time celebrating VE Day on Wednesday 8th May! We celebrated by having a wonderful meal and delicious desserts and singing along to our favourite songs.

Vicar Richard Westcott delivered a wonderful speech, about dedication and hope. Our residents were delighted by the event and everybody had a wonderful time.

Regional activity coordinators meeting

Central region held its coordinator’s meeting at Kingswood Court on Wednesday 17th April. We were delighted to welcome our talented colleagues for the day. Hannah Boscott delivered fantastic training about ENABLE digital roll out and its impact on activity teams, with testimonies from some of our colleagues who are experiencing the new record system. We were also happy to exchange on our practice and experience.

Fun outing for our residents

Our residents have been enjoying a day trip to Wolfridge Alpaca in Alveston.

They were delighted to be able to spend a day out, and enjoy tea, coffee and cakes in a beautiful setting. The alpacas were the real stars of the day, it was lovely seeing them in the field.

Residents said: “It is such a beautiful place, it was lovely to go there. We went to see the alpacas, they looked amazing in the field. The café served delicious cakes and drinks. We had a wonderful time!”

Kingswood Court has a new minibus

We had a new minibus delivered this month and can’t wait to get our residents out and about! Resident Margaret Garde officially cut the ribbon in presence of our Duke of Edinburgh award volunteers Elly and Omar. We are already planning lots of outings!
