Activities at Kingswood Court Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Sarah Walton
I have been working at Kingswood Court for 3 years, first as a carer and since 2022 as an activity coordinator.
I really enjoy making a difference to our residents’ life and organising events and activities for them. I like to involve the local community in events within the home. Activities at Kingswood Court are very varied: entertainers, singers, gentle exercise, arts and craft, outings, and so much more!

Life at Kingswood Court Care Home
Fun outing for our residents
Our residents have been enjoying a day trip to Wolfridge Alpaca in Alveston.
They were delighted to be able to spend a day out, and enjoy tea, coffee and cakes in a beautiful setting. The alpacas were the real stars of the day, it was lovely seeing them in the field.
Residents said: “It is such a beautiful place, it was lovely to go there. We went to see the alpacas, they looked amazing in the field. The café served delicious cakes and drinks. We had a wonderful time!”
Kingswood Court has a new minibus
We had a new minibus delivered this month and can’t wait to get our residents out and about! Resident Margaret Garde officially cut the ribbon in presence of our Duke of Edinburgh award volunteers Elly and Omar. We are already planning lots of outings!
St Stephen’s Junior school visit for World Book Day
We invited children to visit us for World Book Day. They dressed up as their favourite book characters and spent the morning with us. They had fun reading from their favourite books and our residents really appreciated the story time! They ended their visit with a Willy Wonka buffet prepared by our Head Chef.
Our new Toddler group is very popular!
Kingswood Court is now welcoming a toddler group every other Wednesday. The groups are led by Hollie from Lullababy and are proving very popular to families and residents alike. We welcome ten toddlers and babies and their guardian in Maple lounge. Our residents are now saying Wednesday is their favourite day! We are loving the sensory activities, and everyone is having fun joining in the singing and games.
Resident knits dozens of hats for premature babies
Resident knits dozens of hats for premature babies
Story: Kingswood Court resident Tricia Eusden has always loved to knit. She teamed up with friends to knit hats and matinee jackets for premature babies at St Michael’s hospital in Bristol.
Together the group of friends knitted more than 60 hats in lovely pastel colours and gifted them to the maternity unit at St Michael’s in February.
Tricia said she was very happy to make something useful for premature babies and their families. It looks like another bag of baby items will be delivered soon!
Kingswood Court Christmas Cake Winners!
Huge Congratulations to Head Chef Lee and his team for being announced as the Central Division Winners of the Christmas Cake Competition.
This stunning cake was a 4kg boiled whiskey fruit cake, with bauble muffins showing the residents names on as well as the Kingswood Court logo. All topped with rice crispy cone and meringue kisses. Standing at 1.6 meters this really was a show stopper!
