Activities at Lancaster Grange Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Charlotte Thompson
We would like to introduce to you our Senior Activities Coordinator, Charlotte Thompson. Charlotte joined the team at Tennyson Wharf in October 2022 before moving back to us here at Lancaster Grange in January 2023.
Charlotte is pleased to be welcoming families and volunteers back into the home. Charlotte is a senior activities coordinator and enjoys supporting other homes in our region as part of her job role.

Life at Lancaster Grange Care Home
St Patrick's Day
In the morning, we made Irish coffees and decorated cakes on our Memory Lane community. Our favourite part was putting the cream on the top of the Irish coffees, but for some it was the Irish whiskey that went in them!
In the afternoon, we had someone in to sing for us; of course, he was singing traditional Irish songs. Residents enjoyed a singalong and Charlotte, our Activities Coordinator, even tried her hand at Irish dancing!
What a great day!
Pancake Day
We all got together today to celebrate Pancake Day! It was great fun helping to make the mix, flip the pancake and choose our tasty toppings. Thanks to Charlotte, our Activities Coordinator, for organising a lovely afternoon.
Valentine's Day
We went to great efforts to ensure that Lancaster Grange was ready to celebrate the love on Valentine's Day.
Winnie the Pooh Day
We celebrated A. A. Milne's birthday by throwing an afternoon tea party where residents enjoyed cups of tea, Winnie the Pooh-themed cupcakes, followed by jelly and ice cream. Charlotte, our Activities Coordinator, read excerpts from ‘Hooray for Winnie the Pooh’ while our volunteers, Brenda and Jenny, made sure everyone had a tummy full of treats! A great afternoon was had by all.
New Resident at Lancaster Grange
Lancaster Grange has welcomed its newest resident - Otto the Rabbit. Otto was donated to the home by Pets at Home along with his new hutch and everything else required to settle him in. Otto is perfect for pet therapy and he loves nothing more than sitting on his knees and being stroked.
Employee of the Month - July
Employee of the Month at Lancaster Grange goes to our Home Trainer, Paul Rae.
Paul has received several nominations from the care team, as he has worked incredibly hard this month to raise the training stats at Lancaster Grange - and succeeded! He is always professional and delivers fun and interactive training to the staff. Well done and thank you, Paul.
