Activities at Lawton Manor Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Chloe Cameron

Activities Coordinator

This is Chloe and she is our Activities Coordinator here at Lawton Manor. Her job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. She wants to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that Chloe holds very close to her heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them. A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Minibus as we create new, special memories together.

The Church of Saint Luke Community Choir

How wonderful for us to welcome back St Lukes Community Choir to start our festive celebrations .

Many thanks to all the ladies who sang amazingly all our favourite Carols we were truly amazed by their superb voices.

St Lukes of mow cop is one of our local churches who we support weekly with their community meal.

Festive trip to the garden centre

This afternoon residents have enjoyed a festive trip to their local garden centre. We all had a lovely afternoon shopping and looking at all the Christmas decorations, and as per usual we made some furry friends on our way round.

The afternoon ended with a cup of tea and slice of cake in the centre restaurant before heading back home in our minibus.

World Cup ready

Residents have been cheering on the England football team, .

We have dedicated one of three lounges to the tournament with red white and blue decorations where games can be watched everyday and we keep a keen eye on the sweepstakes we have running.

Live musical entertainment

Residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of live entertainment listening to musicians Jon & Pam Baddeley.

Jon played the ukulele and clarinet while Pam sang, they are a fantastic duo and residents are always happy to see them perform.

Residents honor the fallen on Remembrance Sunday

Residents held their service of Remembrance and paid homage to all the lives lost through war and conflict.

Poppies have been displayed throughout the home that had been made by residents, staff and children from Woodcocks Well school.

Weekly Quiz and Games night at the local pub

Resident Carl is a very keen Quizzer.  Weekly trips out to the local pub for a fun games evening with Housekeeper Yvonne Seddon and Carl's daughter has proven to be a great success.

The Wilbraham Arms in Alsager offers a weekly quiz night, additional games such as play your cards right with a supper included!
