Activities at Lawton Manor Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Chloe Cameron
This is Chloe and she is our Activities Coordinator here at Lawton Manor. Her job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. She wants to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.
Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that Chloe holds very close to her heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them. A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Minibus as we create new, special memories together.

Life at Lawton Manor Care Home
Coffee and cake
Coffee and cake was today's outing of choice , we took the car to Astbury garden centre to enjoy a latte and scone.
Astbury is a short drive from the home and is full of spring plants, our ladies enjoyed a mooch around the garden centre looking at all the beautiful plants.
Church Service
We started this morning with a visit from Rector Phillip Atkinson who delivered a community service for our residents.
Rector Philip visits the home fortnightly and brings much comfort to our residents in maintaining the practice of their faith.
Ball Games
Today has started energetically with a group session. Residents have participated in ball games with Amy, residents enjoy a morning fitness session as it starts the day for them and gets them motivated.
Each game is designed to cater for all needs and levels of fitness.
Celebrating Chinese New Year
Here at Lawton manor we celebrated the Chinese New Year. The Lunar New Year arrived on Sunday, January 22, 2023, bringing us into the Year of the Rabbit, specifically the Water Rabbit.
Chef Nick made chicken chow Mein fresh prawn crackers and blood orange sorbet for lunch as part of the celebrations. Residents and staff also tried some Chinese sweets called mochi as well as traditional fortune cookies. The Chinese calendar has a six decade cycle defined by 12 earthly animal totems and the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water.
Preparing for Valentines Day
Preparation is now well under way for the homes valentines decorations. Residents have enjoyed a crafting session to design their own hearts, which we will use to decorate the home.
International Flower Day
The home is blooming today, full of colour and smelling divine. Residents have spent the afternoon flower arranging and making bouquets for fellow residents and themselves. We would like to thank a fellow colleague who kindly donated some of the flowers for today's activity.
