Activities at Lawton Manor Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Chloe Cameron

Activities Coordinator

This is Chloe and she is our Activities Coordinator here at Lawton Manor. Her job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. She wants to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that Chloe holds very close to her heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them. A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Minibus as we create new, special memories together.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Joint Birthday Celebrations

This week we held a combined birthday celebration for friends Ivor, Doreen and Herbert as they all celebrated reaching birthdays in their 90s on the same day on 11th July. Doreen turned 91, Ivor was 94 and Herbert turned 95!

There was a presentation of flowers and cake for each of them in honour of their coincidental birthdays. As a thank you, Ivor even arranged with Head Chef Nick for a cake to be made for the team at Lawton Manor, and left a beautiful thank you note expressing his thanks and gratitude for all that the team do. It was a wonderful day!

Happy 75th Birthday NHS!

We joyfully marked the 75th Birthday of the NHS this week!

As a gesture of our deep appreciation for their unwavering commitment and support, we thoughtfully assembled goodie bags filled with homemade sweet and savoury treats, which we distributed to our local hospital.

We're grateful for everything the NHS and our local healthcare professionals do, and at Lawton Manor we wanted to show our gratitude.

Gardening Rain or Shine

The rain won't stop us! The weather tried to rain us off this week when our green-fingered resident Sarah was planting some new herbs and flowers for our gardens. So we brought the outdoors in!

Sarah is a very proud gardener and has been working very hard to get our new planters thriving for summer. Gardening is one of Sarah's favourite things to do, so we make sure that even when skies are grey, the planting can still go ahead. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks to see it all come together!

Can't Stop the Music

We had a wonderful afternoon yesterday with music and entertainment from Jon & Pam Baddley! Our residents had the best time, singing and clapping along with some of their favourite tunes and dancing along to Jon's ukelele and clarinet playing too!

Thank you again and we're looking forward to welcoming you back next time.

International Nurses Day

We celebrated International Nurses day at the home with General Manager Rebecca presenting all of our nurses and valued members of the team with goodie bags to say a special thank you for all their hard work and dedication to the home. Each and everyone one of our team members play an important part in our home - whole team approach!

Thank you for all of your hard work and the part you play in our home.

Birthday celebrations

A huge Happy Birthday to resident, Barbara who has celebrated her birthday recently. Birthdays are a firm feature on the homes life enrichment programme and we like to party!

Happy Birthday from everyone at Lawton Manor!
