Activities at Lawton Manor Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Chloe Cameron

Activities Coordinator

This is Chloe and she is our Activities Coordinator here at Lawton Manor. Her job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. She wants to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that Chloe holds very close to her heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them. A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Minibus as we create new, special memories together.

Life at Lawton Manor Care Home

The Unconventional Menagerie

Residents have had an amazing afternoon with Christian of the "Unconventional Menagerie" who brought along several of his animals for us to meet.  Residents held and admired some wonderful creatures including a very pretty chameleon.

Firm favourites of David's were three snakes he enjoyed posing with!

On Safari

We enjoyed a group trip to Knowsley Safari Park in our minibus

In the bright sunshine, all the Animals were out for us to see!

A family of Lions blocked our path but we enjoyed watching them at such a close range, It really was a lovely day and our residents enjoyed a picnic lunch.

National Trust talk

Our homes had a fantastic time joining National Trust Talks Service team at Cliveden House for an inspirational talk on Nancy Astor – the first woman to take a seat in the House of Commons.

Our residents had the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating life of Nancy and her political career. As the first women MP, she experienced both attention and scandal throughout her life, which led to many triumphs and numerous disasters.  The talk was truly enjoyed by all.

Live Music by "Strung Together"

The very talented band "Strung Together" performed a great set of live music for us during the Jubilee weekend.

We listened to music from all genres and for all tastes.  Residents loved this exciting and lively group, especially their skilled Vocals and brilliant guitar techniques!

A Jubilant Jubilee

A Jubilant Jubilee was had by all!  Staff wore Jolly Jubilee colours over the weekend to enter into the spirit of things together with residents.

Residents have been thoroughly engaged with the various Jubilee activities and live music performances recently.  Indulging in some extra special refreshments and menus over the weekend has been delicious fun and we have all enjoyed Chef Nick's home made Jubilee cakes.

Regular Church Service

Rector Phillip Atkinson presented a full Church Service and Communion.  Residents love the Rector's visits as it allows them to continue to practice their faith and beliefs within the care home setting.

Rector Philip visits us every other Monday at 11:00am to deliver his inspiring Services
