Activities at Lindum House Care Home
Our fantastic Activities Coordinators make sure that there is a full programme of social events to suit all interests and capabilities. They aim to not only to stimulate, but to ensure that everyone involved has lots of fun. We enjoy trips out visiting local places of interest or just to explore, which inevitably ends up with us having a lovely lunch somewhere.
There are regular concerts that we hold in the home that allows us to have a good old singalong, and our community links include the local churches, knit and natter groups and toddler groups coming in to see residents.
On a daily basis, everyone enjoys a variety of activities, including quizzes, bingo, arts and crafts, reminiscing and movement to music. We also host movie afternoons on the big screen which, of course, involves popcorn and ice cream at the interval!
Any residents who are unable to join us in the communal areas for activities have one-to-one time in their rooms, with us either reading to them, chatting or anything else they wish to do that’s within their capabilities.
Kelly Rolph
Hi there, I'm Kelly. My role at Lindum House ensures all of our residents always have lots of fun activities to look forward too.
I grew up down south, my parents worked in news trade & I've lived in many places! I've lived in hull for 20 years now, worked in health and social care for around 15 years, I started on care, worked through domestic, kitchen assistant and found my calling with activities!
I'm a super social person, enjoy being busy and sing in my spare time. I am part of a small singing charity group 'guise & gals'. I've been singing karaoke since I was 18 but never had the confidence to take it any further. I do, however, love putting on a show for our residents!
I'm a strong believer in 'treat people how you wish to be treated' everyone is different and it's important to focus on each individuals wants and needs, to encourage and nurture life, you only live once!
I'm full of energy, providing there is music... it's good for my soul!
Our residents smiles are my reward, it makes me so happy to see them enjoying them selves.

Life at Lindum House Care Home
St David's Day celebrations
We celebrated St David's Day making some lovely flower arrangements with fresh Daffodils, a National symbol of Wales, and then used them for the subject of a Still Life Arts Class.
With the Afternoon Drinks the Residents enjoyed warm Welsh Cakes, served the best way - topped with real Welsh butter!
Valentines Day Celebrations at Lindum House
Love is in the air at Lindum House today as we celebrate Valentines Day. We started the day by sharing advice on happy marriages and making them into posters followed by creating a remembrance tree for all those we've loved and lost.
Lunchtime was made special for residents and couples in the home, with valentines times themed lunch for them to enjoy. Couples; Julia and Malcolm and Mr and Mrs Farley were really grateful for the effort put into making it special for them.
In the afternoon, we were serenaded with live entertainment while residents enjoyed a glass of something sparkling with some strawberries and heart shaped chocolates.
We all sang along and some even got up to have a dance with the staff. A Love-ly day was had by all.

World Number Day
Our Residents Celebrated "National Number Day" by playing Scrabble this Morning and games of Bingo,
Congratulations to Anne, our Walking Dictionary, who won Scrabble by over 100 points each round.
I'm sure it was pure coincidence that she dressed to colour match the board.
Also well done to our Line Winners and Full Housers - enjoy your Prizes from the newly stocked prize box.
Jean always loves a good game of Bingo, often helping those around her to find the numbers on their cards!
As a Maths Teacher, numbers are her passion - so was thrilled that they now have a National Day dedicated to them.
Church Service
Our Residents had a lovely Candlemas Communion Service at Lindum House this afternoon.
This beautiful Service was brought in by Beverley Churches Together - 1 Representative from lots of Churches around Beverley - that many of our Residents attended themselves for many years.
This is now a much looked forward to staple in our monthly calendar.
National Chocolate Cake Day
Our residents celebrated "National Chocolate Cake Day", which proved very popular.
We sampled various kinds and flavours, including Salted Caramel and Chocolate Orange amongst the most popualr.
This followed a very welcome return to an "Old Favourite" from the Activity Programme - Bingo!
The Residents were very pleased to have a few games of "Eyes Down", so much so - the Prize Box needs topping up!
