Activities at Longueville Court Care Home

Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.

The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.

The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.

Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Knit & Natter Care for Cats

We had the greatest of pleasures today of visiting Acorn Lodge Cattery and Kennels in Eye, which helps to support the wonderful work of the RSPCA.

We went there with our lovely ladies from the Longueville 'Knit & Natter' group, who have been working really hard, along with our friends of Longueville Court to creating some lovely warm blankets for the animals rescue animals at Acorn.

On the return journey our kitting ladies celebrated their knitting efforts with drinks and beautiful cakes at Van Hage.

Pumpkin Pie

We have to give a big thank you to our local Asda, for donating two trays of pumpkins, for our Halloween celebrations. Since we'd already done some flower arrangements and carved out others, there was only one thing left to do... bake.

Nasco our lovely chef was given the challenge (which he accepted) of making traditional pumpkin pies, something we have never attempted before at Longueville Court. Our wonderful residents sampled them at teatime and apparently, they loved it!

So thank you Nasco for giving it a go, maybe we can try pumpkin soup next year?

Open Day Fun

We'd like to send a big thank you to our two wonderful lady visitors who joined the Open Day entertainer and Martine to get everyone in the mood for dancing. Singer 'Steve' had the crowd in the palm of his hand with songs from the 50' and 60's with an Elvis vs Cliff Richard battle we could all sing along to!
