Activities at Lydfords Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Carole Hierons
Hello, my name is Carole and I am the Activities Lead here at Lydfords.
I have worked in this role for many years and I would not to do anything else.
My job is to plan and oversee the amazing life enrichment activities and trips for all of our residents. It is such a rewarding role and I love planning and doing crafts with everyone.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Lydfords Care Home
Front row seats to East Hoathly famous bonfire party and parade
All we can say is wow! As expected, it did not disappoint. Almost all of our residents chose to join us to watch the parade, we had hot chocolate and tea to warm ourselves up and thankfully the rain stayed away.
It was such a fun evening with lots of dancing to the silver bands and drums.
Guy Fawkes Creation
Anyone remember our Guy Fawkes? Well we've only one FIRST prize in the East Hoathly & Halland Carnival Society Guy competition. Well done to Sue Bowers our wonderful activities coordinator. And of course our very talented residents for all their creative guidance.
Fun Fitness With Karla
Today we had Karla in for morning exercise. Karla uses footballs in her exercise classes.
Residents had great fun doing all the moves and there was lots of laughter as the balls did not always play ball and were bouncing all over the place.
Such a relaxed and fun way to do exercise. Really helps with the body and mind when something is enjoyable.
Employee Of The Month October
Congratulations to Rox who was nominated to be Octobers Employee Of The Month.
Residents and Staff all nominated Rox to win the award for hard working, always being neat and tidy, completes everything that needs doing. Rox is great with the residents and always supports the staff.
Rox is appreciated so much by our residents, that they presented Rox with her award.

1st Place Awarded To Lydfords
This year residents entered the Guy competition again.
They all worked together with the support of our Sue, our wonderful activity Coordinator and created the Guy.
Judging took place by the bonfire and we were awarded 1st place.
The rosette and trophy are now in pride of place in our reception.
