Activities at Lynde House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators get a real buzz off their work here as enthusiasm is essential for the role. We decorate and celebrate for all the big annual events, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mothering Sunday and much more. There are also regular fixtures in our activities programme, including bingo, a sherry morning and quizzes, that are always well-attended. There's also an International Day that we hold to celebrate the wonderful ethnic diversity of our staff, where members of our team and their families give up their time to showcase their national costumes, dances and songs. Of course, we also have activities and services tailored to those residents who prefer the quiet life, such manicures or simply a friendly chat and a cup of tea. We always do our best to learn about residents' hobbies and interests and try to arrange our activities programme around their individual likes and dislikes.

Life at Lynde House Care Home
Indoor visiting continues at Lynde House!
Our residents continue to enjoy visits from their family, with one nominated visitor who can visit each week its heartwarming to see the happy smiles on everyone's face. And with the warmer sunny weather we are looking forward to garden visits starting again, our garden is looking lovely!
Claire's 15 year long service award
Our dedicated night carer, Claire Russell, received her long service award from Barchester Healthcare for 15 years at Lynde House. Claire has always worked nights and described herself as an 'night owl' which certainly helps to stay alert caring for residents during wee small hours. Congratulations Claire, enjoy spending your voucher - we look forward to your next award in just 5 more years!
Mother's Day
Beautiful smiles today from residents as they received flowers from the Lynde House team in addition to cards and gifts from their families, we all enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by Andrew and his team, everyone felt special today!
Nursery children visit residents on Zoom!
Smiles and laughter on our zoom visit by the nursery on the new bigger screen which can be wheeled around the home, we will be able to share even more activities and events with residents who prefer room based life enrichment! The children are delightful and we are looking forward to getting to know them over coming weeks, special thank you to Polly van Marken from Brighter Together intergenerational project for inviting us to take part and all her support.
Feeding our garden birds!
It was a team effort as residents filled their bird feeders for our feathered friends, we want to make sure they are well fed before nesting starts.
Introducing Valencia - Our Therapy Assistant
We are delighted to introduce Valencia Afonso who joined the Lynde House team in 2019, qualified as a Physiotherapist in India she is working with our residents as Therapy Assistant under the guidance of Lee Remedios from West Thames Physiotheraphy. In addition to the twice weekly armchair exercise sessions for small groups of residents Valencia makes room visits for one-to-one support if residents want or need more private help. Comments from residents who have seen the benefit of Valencia’s care include an increase in stamina which can maintain or improve mobility, together with greater confidence in moving safely when there is a fear of falling.
If you would like to discuss the benefits of Valencia’s support for our residents and how we can help you, a loved one or friend please give us a call on 020 8892 4772
