Activities at Mallard Court Care Home
We provide a wide range of group activities and individual one to one activities to meet our residents needs including musical entertainers, PAT dog visits, minibus outings, themed events and much more!
We take a person centred approach when planning each individuals activities so they can achieve a feeling of self worth and well-being.
We hold monthly meetings with the residents and also regular meetings with their family and friends, discussing any ideas that they may have, and also any problems that their may have. Both of our activities coordinators, Steve and Lynne, have completed NAPA Activity Workers Level 2 Award training, and are continually seeking new ideas so we can ensure life in the home is as varied and interesting as possible. We encourage strong community links with the local schools, colleges and local charities in the community. Steve is supported also by his dogs, Tia, Pebbles and Oscar who give great pleasure to the residents in our home, and can often be seen either on a persons lap or being taken for a walk around the home. Many of the visitors that come into Mallard Court commented that it is so friendly and welcoming.
Steve Moss
Hi, my name is Steve, and I have been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Mallard Court since 2006, and have achieved the NAPA (National Association of Activity Providers) Level 2 Award in Activity Provision in the Care Sector.
We provide a wide range of activities for the people we support, as well as for their families and friends. I also love to have one-to-one chats with residents who like to reminisce about their lives over a cup of tea and some biscuits.
We have our own minibus and have fun days out sight-seeing, having a picnic or going a local pub for a drink and a meal. We also arrange for local artists to provide musical entertainment for everyone at Mallard Court.

Life at Mallard Court Care Home
A 'Willy Wonka' kinda day
Roald Dahl was born on 13th September 1916 in Llandaff in Wales, he was a British Novelist, short-story writer, poet, screenwriter and wartime fighter pilot. We celebrated this talented and creative novelist, we chose one of our all-time favourite Roald Dahl stories, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and had a ‘Willy Wonka Day’!
We created our own mini Chocolate Factory and even had a visit from Willy Wonka himself and one of his Oompa Loompa’s !
We had real Wonka Chocolate, a ‘Sweetie Tree’ along with Wonka Cupcakes and buns with a selection of edible mini Roald Dahl books atop.
One resident commented “oh my word it’s a real feast for the eyes as well as the mouth”! We had lots of fun and Mallard Court was full of laughter and we put the movie on to watch together and lots of chocolate and sweet treats were eaten and we all had a fantastic @willy Wonka@ day.
Residents enjoy a Virtual Cruise Experience
We had a lovely time joining Paul Hawkins and Lisa Richards from Unilever for an exciting Virtual Cruise experience.
Our residents were welcomed with mocktails as Lisa and Paul took them on a magical journey to 3 mystery destinations, which were uncovered after a few clues.
Paul demonstrated how to create a few of the local traditional dishes, which our residents had the opportunity to try too.
The event evoked lots of great memories and it was truly enjoyed by all.
Scrabble challenge
We really enjoy a fantastic games of Scrabble here at Mallard Court and as the games progress some thoughtful and unusual words were placed and as the vowels get less and less some serious thinking goes on!
Bubble fun at Mallard
When it rains bubbles at Mallard Court….. Always a huge hit , bubble activities are so much fun and visually beautiful for our residents to enjoy. From just watching the bubbles gently float by, to actively creating them with our huge “bubble wands” or our newest addition “bubble guns”… bubbles always bring smiles and laughter to Mallard Court!
Making a perfect pizza!
We had so much fun here at Mallard Court, creating our own individual Pizzas. We used Fresh locally sourced produce including Mozzarella and a variety of different cheeses, fresh bell peppers, ham, chicken, pastrami, prosciutto, chorizo, salami and olives.
Our residents loved creating their own individual Pizza, choosing their own ingredients to create their own unique flavours. The Pizzas were cooked in the oven baked by our very own Chefs here at Mallard and were served at tea time with garlic ciabatta and chunky homemade chips!
Residents enjoy spa experience
Here at Mallard Court Bridlington, we are so thrilled with our new Sensory Spa bath we recently had installed.
The bath enables us to offer our residents the full Spa experience including sensory lighting, Bluetooth enabled music via the Bluetooth Audio System and a Spa System with massage options at various levels.
The bath has a detachable seat and optional Shower facility making it both versatile and accessible for all our residents and we have created a lovely welcoming, calming and ambient environment for our residents to enjoy
