Activities at Meadow Park Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Meadow Park Care Home

Flower arranging
Today residents created lots of floral arrangements decorating all areas of their home. A natural flair and an eye for colour resulted in many blooming displays, for everyone to enjoy.
Flower arranging is a popular group activity within the home and residents love to chat over a cup of tea and talking about their favourite flowers and time spent in their own gardens.

Into the deep with Hull Aquarium
Residents across our services enjoyed a fantastic virtual tour of The Deep, an award-winning aquarium in Hull.
Our residents dived into the underwater world of some fascinating creatures such as sharks, turtles and stingrays.
It was a truly immersive and educational experience that brought the wonders of the ocean right to our screens.

International Day of Families
What does Family mean to you? Love, Safety, Kindness, Memories, Truly being yourself, A sense of belonging. These are just a few of our thoughts residents used whilst talking about their families. Friends are family. In Meadow Park we are one huge extended family who meet as strangers and become one united group. We Celebrate Residents and Their Families every day

Celebrating Cadbury's
Residents across our services had a wonderful time joining Cadbury for an interactive virtual talk on their fascinating 200-year history.
Residents joining learnt interesting facts about the chocolate giant, shared memories, and reminisced about their favourite sweet treats.
It was a heartwarming experience filled with laughter, nostalgia, and plenty of chocolatey goodness!

Home bury time capsule
Residents at Meadow Park care home, in Bedlington recently enjoyed giving something back to our beautiful planet earth, ahead of ‘World Earth Day’. With love and a little help from Maintenance man Tony, and resident David, we planted a beautiful pink blossom tree to nurture and grow, bringing a splash of colour to welcome spring each year for us all to enjoy for years to come. Alongside our blossom tree residents worked hard to gather ideas of items we could bury in an engraved time capsule, in our garden.
A mobile phone, a stamp, the days ‘Journal’ a popular local newspaper, coins with both our beloved Queen and current King, The Bero Book, photographs of group activities, our beautiful residents and our team, and lastly a precious life biography hand written from one of our residents, Mrs Mary Newton.

Come sing!
Residents across our homes and hospitals had a fantastic time with vocal coach Dan Cooper from Biiah as he led an amazing sing-a-long session for residents to enjoy. Residents who joined the event were able to learn different techniques as they sang the famous ‘I Can See Clearly Now’ by Jimmy Cliff and ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles. Across our homes there were smiles and laugher all around. The session was such a success and was great for the mind, body and soul.
