Activities at Meadowbeck Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Tina Holmes
Hi, I’m Tina, and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Meadowbeck.
I began working at the home as a Care Assistant in 1999. In 2014, I changed my role to Social Support Worker, which I enjoyed, as it involved supporting residents at Meadowbeck in their daily lifestyles.
I then became the Activities Coordinator in May 2017. I love working with our residents and getting to know them and their families. In addition to supporting them maintain an active lifestyle I always ensure to personally get to know each resident when they move in with us to support them in the continuation of any hobbies or interests the might have.

Life at Meadowbeck Care Home
Just passing through
Our residents across our homes had a lovely time joining Daniel Snowman, for an exciting virtual event to discuss his book ‘Just Passing Through’.
Author of over a dozen books, Daniel Snowman’s long and active life has led him to interact in countless ways with the wider world and with some of its most famous inhabitants. His memoir evokes these experiences via a series of vivid literary vignettes.
Our residents found the talk very intriguing and informative, and were happy to learn more about Daniel’s experiences around the world. A great time was had by all.
Come sing!
Our homes had a fantastic time with vocal coach Mark De-Lisser as he led an amazing virtual singing session for our residents to enjoy.
Our residents were able to learn different techniques as they sang the famous ‘I’m a Believer’ by The Monkees.
There were smiles and laugher all around. The session was such a success and was great for the mind, body and soul.
Ascot Ladies Day
We marked the annual Royal Ascot races in style as we dressed to impress and put on our favourite hats and fascinator’s
Our residents enjoyed the event from the comfort of the home, we watched the races, had conversations about the Royal Ascot fashion and celebrated the occasion with a glass or two of fizz and delicious treats.
Some of our residents decided to sit in the garden to listen to the Royal Ascot races, we had a great time debating who was going to win.
Our ladies enjoyed a special pampering session and had their hair and make-up done for the special event.
We all had great fun.
The sound of music
A visit from the Dignity Charity Organ was thoroughly appreciated as residents and team members gathered outside to enjoy the entertainment. As well as flags waving we had lots of toes tapping and hands clapping.
Cupcake treats!
Residents at Meadowbeck carried on their week’s activities of utilising their senses, they commented on how they would bake with their parents and how they would enjoy the focus and concentration that baking gave them.
Residents got to use their fine motor skills by cracking the eggs and also having a good whisk. Lots of fun and jokes were had as we all got covered in flour but the end result tasted delicious!!
Carers week
Happy Carers Week! We would like to take this great opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful carers here at the home.
We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.
