Activities at Melbourn Springs Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is a major focus of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat will always be welcomed.

Life at Melbourn Springs Care Home

It's a Kind of Magic
Our fabulous residents on Memory Lane have been enjoying spending time on our Magic Table.
For anybody who is not aware of what this is, the magic table is a series of interactive light projected games. Research has shown how effective interactive light care be in care home settings, and how beneficial it can be to residents’ well-being, especially those living with dementia.
The other benefits of the Magic Table include enhanced relationships between residents, an increase in physical, social and cognitive activity and a positive effect upon well-being by improving mood, reducing apathy and restlessness, as well as increasing engagement levels especially across the mid-to-late stages of dementia
We love seeing how the residents react to the Magic Table and we are always available to demonstrate how it works to our resident families and loved ones.

John's special day
It was celebration time at Melbourn Springs at the weekend as we celebrated John's Birthday with a special party.
John had a lovely time, along with his friends and family as we had live entertainment, music, games and the all important Birthday Cake.
Another great event at Melbourn Springs and we hope you had a great Birthday, John.

Games galore at Melbourn Springs
It has been all fun and games at Melbourn Springs in the last 24 hours.
The residents have been enjoying playing mini golf, ball games, bean bag target games and, of course, the obligatory games of dominoes.
Lots of friendly competition and even more smiley, happy faces!!!

Getting creative
It's been another busy and fun-filled weekend at Melbourn Springs.
In between watching the football and the tennis, the residents have been showing their creative side this weekend.
We have been making bookmarks which we will be looking to sell at future events to raise some money for local charities.

Let the games begin!!
The stakes were high at Melbourn Springs as the residents took part in their own little triathlon of Mini Golf, Ten Pin Bowling and Carpets Bowls.
There was lots of friendly competition between the residents and it is fair to say that at the end of the day they were all winners!!!

SAY CHEESE!!
We had a very special afternoon at Melbourn Springs where the residents were treated to Cheese and Wine tasting.
There was a wide variety of locally sourced cheese with red and white wine aplenty and by the end of the afternoon the plates were as empty as the tummies were full!!
Yet another great day at Melbourn Springs
