Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Hello. I am Jackie, the Lead Activity Co-Ordinator at Moreton Hill. I have worked for Barchester for over 10 years. Now, together with my team and the staff at our beautiful home, our aim is to help all residents live life to the best they can by bringing meaningful and enriching activities into their lives.

Life at Moreton Hill Care Home
Autumn Planting
As the seasons are changing it was time to update some of the planting in our courtyard. Moira and Roger led the way with planting cyclamen and variegated ivy in the troughs for colour and interest during the colder months ahead.
Tweet Treats!
Residents had great fun making bird treats out of lard and seed, shaping them into fat balls. With such a variety of birds visiting Moreton Hill we want to feed them and encourage more to visit over the colder months ahead.
We Love Cheese!
Cheese biscuits handmade by residents were a very pleasant pre-lunch nibble! Baking is always a popular activity so many of our residents are keen bakers. We all agreed that we are very much looking forward to Godsells Cheese visit in October as we all love cheese!

Walks With Hawks
What a fantastic afternoon we had with Walks With Hawks thank you so much Clare for bringing along Archie, Henry and Thor. The residents and staff so enjoyed meeting these majestic birds. It was also interesting to learn so much about them as well. We met Archie first, an American Kestrel at 15 years is far exceeding life expectancy. He is literally as light as a feather weighing less than 4oz. Then we met Henry the barn owl who has really missed perching on walking frames! Finally it was Thor's turn, otherwise known as The Mighty Thor, a native American Burrowing Owl, who like Archie weighs less than 4oz. We can see why he is called the mighty with a real personality he captivated the room. After the group display, the birds went to meet residents in their rooms.
Tea and Cake at Saul Junction
On the Autumn Enquinox we took advantage of the last of the summer sun with a trip out to Saul Junction. Residents enjoyed tea and cake at The Stables Café whilst chatting and watching the boats.
