Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Balance Awareness Week

It is Balance Awareness Week. For those living with Menieres this is an important fundraising and awareness week; for everyone once we reach 40 plus our balance deteriates, therefore in turn the risk of falling increases. Exercise focusing on balance is one way of reducing the risk of falls and today residents at Moreton Hill took part in a class balacing balls, stretching out one arm at a time and where possible standing on one leg. The varied exercise programme is so important to resident wellbeing.

Moreton Hill at Frampton Country Fair

Moreton Hill attended the Frampton on Severn Country Fair long with our Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Homes.  It was a very positive event with large numbers attending.  It was also great for team to be out and about again talking about the residential, nursing, dementia and respite care we can offer.

Autumn Crumbles

You may have noticed the leaves starting to change colour and how early it is now getting dark!  We are heading into Autumn and the beauty it brings.  Residents took a stroll down the lane to go blackberry picking, another great thing about Autumn - crumbles!

Glorious Day for a Barbeque

The sun really was shining down on us, we couldn't have picked a more glorious day for a barbeque.  A mouth watering lunch of barbeque meats and homemade salads were served in our courtyard, followed by a dessert trolley.  Residents cheered and clapped to thank chef Stuart and his team.  We all then settled down to enjoy live music from Melody Makers, it really was a marvelous afternoon.
