Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Jackie Chillingworth

Life at Moreton Hill Care Home
Autumn Crumbles
You may have noticed the leaves starting to change colour and how early it is now getting dark! We are heading into Autumn and the beauty it brings. Residents took a stroll down the lane to go blackberry picking, another great thing about Autumn - crumbles!
Glorious Day for a Barbeque
The sun really was shining down on us, we couldn't have picked a more glorious day for a barbeque. A mouth watering lunch of barbeque meats and homemade salads were served in our courtyard, followed by a dessert trolley. Residents cheered and clapped to thank chef Stuart and his team. We all then settled down to enjoy live music from Melody Makers, it really was a marvelous afternoon.
Creativity Blooming
These photos really captured a fantastic flower arranging session. Creativity was blooming with some stunning arrangements now on display around the home. It was such a pleasure to see these ladies really enjoying themselves.
Talk by Stonehouse History Group
It was a full house for a talk by Stonehouse History Group. Thank you so much to Vicki and Shirley from the group who gave us all such an interesting talk on the role of nurses during World War 1 at Standish Hospital. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, a fascinating talk followed by an afternoon tea.
And Breathe!
We are never too old to learn something new and Moreton Hill residents are proving this. Jackie's yoga class is growing every week and for many it is the first time they have tried yoga. It is also wonderful see so many gentleman taking part, and all with great spirit. This week breathing was the focus - we should all stop sometimes to think about our breathing particularly during times of stress. Breathing effectively improves digestion, enhances sleep quality and gives greater mental clarity.
Relaxing by the Canal
The activities team at Barchester Moreton Hill work closely with all the residents to ensure they are offering variety. Yesterday there was a choice of minibus trips; a visit to a garden centre and cafe or a trip to sit with a cup of tea by the peaceful canal. Both trips were an absolute pleasure, we tried a new venue and sat at one of our regular spots.
