Activities at Mount Vale Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from PAT dogs, entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.
Louise Chapman
Hi my name is Louise I have been working at Mount Vale since 2010. I am the activities co-ordinator, I am here to promote the wellbeing of our residents and ensure they have a variety of activities to get involved in. I love finding new creative ways to engage our residents and involve our local community.
I am a dementia champion for the home and enjoy continuing to learn and find more things I can do to help promote the wellbeing of our residents.
I love spending time with each individual getting to know them so I can add individual needs into our plans. I love building strong relationships with our residents and families.
I am a crafty person and can be found doing diamond arts and lots of other creative things when I am not at work. I love spending time with my family and going for walks with my dog Dottie and cuddling my cat Loki.

Life at Mount Vale Care Home
Residents and staff celebrate cupcake day
Residents and staff at Mount Vale Care Home had a great day celebrating Cupcake Day in style as there is nothing like cake to bring people together.
Staff pulled out their aprons to bake and decorate a number of cupcakes in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
The day was a real treat for our sweet-toothed staff and residents, as we enjoyed tasting our delicious cupcakes, whilst raising funds for the charity.
Residents enjoyed a fun filled afternoon playing Bingo
Residents at Mount Vale enjoyed a fun filled afternoon with a game of competitive Bingo.
They had a great time drinking sherry, having fun and winning some free prizes. There were smiles all around.
As well as helping to keep our residents minds active, Bingo is a great way to promote socialisation and engagement. We look forward to playing again next week and seeing who our winners will be!
Residents discover the history and treasures of Hereford Cathedral
Residents had a lovely afternoon joining the team from Hereford Cathedral as they were given a glimpse of the spectacular building and its treasures as they were taken on a tour of the site.
From the stunning gardens which lead down to the River Wye, to the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library, the virtual visit shared the history and beauty of the historic building.
It was wonderful to learn more about the history and beauty of Hereford Cathedral.
Smiles all round at Mount Vale care home
Residents and staff enjoyed a fun filled afternoon with a visit from Elvis Tribute.
Our residents are big Elvis fans and listening to all his old hits brought back so many memories. We all had a brilliant time reminiscing about the good old days with a sing along and a good dance.
We are delighted that entertainers can now visit us in the homes again and look forward to Elvis returning next month!
A big thank you to all of our wonderful Carers!
We would like to take this great opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful carers at Mount Vale Care Home in Northallerton. We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.
Enjoying the sunny days at Mount Vale
Residents at Mount Vale Care Home certainly made the most of the sunny warm days in the garden this week with planting some beautiful hanging baskets. They had a lovely time sharing knowledge on gardening and enjoying a sherry or two whilst basking in the sunshine.
We are all looking forward to the warmer weather so we can continue to spend more time in our lovely garden.
