Activities at Mount Vale Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from PAT dogs, entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.
Louise Chapman
Hi my name is Louise I have been working at Mount Vale since 2010. I am the activities co-ordinator, I am here to promote the wellbeing of our residents and ensure they have a variety of activities to get involved in. I love finding new creative ways to engage our residents and involve our local community.
I am a dementia champion for the home and enjoy continuing to learn and find more things I can do to help promote the wellbeing of our residents.
I love spending time with each individual getting to know them so I can add individual needs into our plans. I love building strong relationships with our residents and families.
I am a crafty person and can be found doing diamond arts and lots of other creative things when I am not at work. I love spending time with my family and going for walks with my dog Dottie and cuddling my cat Loki.

Life at Mount Vale Care Home
Harvest celebrations
Mount Vale have been celebrating the Harvest Festival by taking part in autumn crafts and enjoying traditional harvest dishes. Residents worked together to make salt dough harvest plaits and arranging autumnal displays throughout the home which really helped everyone get into the spirit of the festival.
Nimble Elsie!
Keeping active, having social interactions and being mentally stimulated is very important to Residents at Mount Vale. Whilst participating in a simple chair exercise, Resident Elsie showed us how nimble she was and even managed to get up without any help! We all had a good chuckle!
Residents enjoy sensory experience
Residents of Mount Vale enjoy a sensory experience in their sensory room which they find very relaxing. The sensory experience is also have a positive effect on those residents living with dementia as it creates a calming environment where different stimuli can be introduced to reinvigorate the senses.
Residents enjoy Macmillan Coffee Morning
We celebrated our McMillan Coffee Morning on Friday 25th September. We enjoyed lots of delicious treats kindly donated by staff and residents for this worthy cause. It was a very different occasion this year without any visitors but we made up for it with lots of chatting and laughter.
Fun in the sun
Residents enjoy time in the garden making the most of the sunny weather. Residents had a wonderful time catching up before sitting back to enjoy a refreshing cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake.
Fun at the Fair
Residents of Mount Vale had a fun filled day at the Fair as they hosted their very own Summer Fair in the homes grounds. They enjoyed hook a duck, coconut shy, splat the manager and staff and many other fun games!
The home held a Raffle for staff to say thank you for working so had over the last five months during the pandemic and there were lots of prizes and sweets for everyone. It was a great day which was finished off with a picnic and pimms!
