Activities at Mount Vale Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from PAT dogs, entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Bewitching visitors greet Residents

Mount Vale was a den of ghoulish activity as the home’s spooky Halloween party got in to full swing with a special visit by the children of Rosedene Nursery who waved through the window showing their Halloween costumes to the residents.  The children were delighted to receive a hamper of spooky treats by General Manager, Helen Lewis.

Residents enjoy pop up shop

Head of Housekeeping, Julie had a stall last week where she was selling her homemade Candles and Air Fresheners to Residents and Staff. Julie has been fundraising for Cats protection as they seem to have been forgotten in the pandemic. Residents and staff enjoyed looking at all her creations and some staff and residents started buying the odd gift ready for Christmas.

Cupcake treat for Residents

Rosedene Nursery called to see us today to drop off some cupcakes they had made for our Residents. The homes General Manager, Helen Lewis was delighted to accept them on behalf of the homes lovely residents.

Harvest celebrations

Mount Vale have been celebrating the Harvest Festival by taking part in autumn crafts and enjoying traditional harvest dishes. Residents worked together to make salt dough harvest plaits and arranging autumnal displays throughout the home which really helped everyone get into the spirit of the festival.

Nimble Elsie!

Keeping active, having social interactions and being mentally stimulated is very important to Residents at Mount Vale.  Whilst participating in a simple chair exercise, Resident Elsie showed us how nimble she was and even managed to get up without any help! We all had a good chuckle!

Residents enjoy sensory experience

Residents of Mount Vale enjoy a sensory experience in their sensory room which they find very relaxing.  The sensory experience is also have a positive effect on those residents living with dementia as it creates a calming environment where different stimuli can be introduced to reinvigorate the senses.
