Activities at Newton House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Our wonderful friends from Dunelm visited Newton House with a bumper collection of gifts including brand new books, household items and wares worth over £1100.
The team in our home and our residents were overwhelmed by the kindness, thoughtfulness & love that has been shared amongst the incredible community in Grantham.
A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of the Grantham Dunelm team.

Newton House was delighted to relaunch our Knit and Natter group.
Every Wednesday we look forward to welcoming our residents, family members and the wider community to join us for a morning of fun, companionship and laughter.
It was amazing to see the gents of Newton House wishing to get involved & learning a new skill too.
Olga was delighted to teach Mike & sat so patiently with him as she taught him to cast on & knit his first row.
Newton House Celebrates College Volunteers
Volunteers from the Grantham College & University who gave up their free time to provide extra support at Newton House Care Home in Grantham, were given a special thank you at the end of their tenure with the home.
Newton House proudly acknowledges the remarkable contributions of two outstanding individuals: Ellie and Lani. These talented students from Grantham College & University Centre have spent the week with us as part of their work experience placement, leaving an indelible mark on our community, on our residents and their families.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ellie and Lani for choosing Newton House in Grantham. As they move forward, we wish them every success and look forward to witnessing their continued growth.
Cheese and Ale
Courtesy of our marvellous team in the kitchen our residents, relatives and visitors enjoyed a selection of cheeses and a variety of finely picked ale.
Sonia Fairhurst, General Manager at Newton House, said: “This has been a huge amount of fun it’s been great to see our residents and guests come together and enjoy an afternoon of hearty chatter over some cheese and ale”
A resident at the home said: “We’ve had such a good time. It really has been a special treat”
Intergenerational Fun
Residents and Colleagues at Newton House were delighted to welcome the returning and new year of children from the Sweet Angels Childcare Service to enjoy music, games and activities with residents at the home.
The session started with a sing-a-long to welcome all of our fabulous residents, with the “Hello” song. The children then spent some quality time being read to.
Vonny was so excited, and as soon as she entered the room she was sat in the circle with the children.
Reading a variety of books, singing, cuddles and chats it really was a beautiful morning.
Malcolm & Gerald were delighted to see the children & Gerald said:
“How lovely that the children come to visit, it’s a great start to their life”
Hearts & Crafts
This morning residents began building up to our valentines day activities as they came together to get their craft on with “Hearts & Crafts”.
Creating some beautiful masterpieces that will be laminated and displayed in residents windows who are nursed in bed.
Arts & Crafts sessions are a wonderful way in providing a sense of achievement, increasing dexterity & coordination whilst living with increased purpose.
