Activities at Newton House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Big Day Out

We visited Little Jacks Farm, and everyone was all smiles as soon as they got their coats on to leave. Feeding and patting the animals, saying hello to all the children and their families and finishing the morning off with refreshments in the cafe. It’s safe to say we all had a splendid time

St Patrick's Day

Residents were treated to a fabulous St Patrick’s themed party, whilst welcoming back the fantastic Dave Cox for live musical entertainment. Guinness was a plenty and fun Leprechaun props created lots of laughter.

Chinese New Year Celebrations

Residents enjoyed celebrating the Chinese New Year with delicious Chinese delicacies, watching the themed parade using our tablet, and arts & crafts made it a wonderful day of celebrations.

Chinese lantern making and tissue paper blossom trees were a big hit with residents and they were very proud of their fabulous creations.  A joyous day had by all.

Return of Trips Out

Residents were thrilled with the return of trips out on our very own minibus. First up was ‘Gents Day’ with a lovely trip to a local public house, to enjoy their favourite tipples and have fun games of cards and dominoes. We reminisced about their favourite places to go socialising in their younger years.

Next up was 'Ladies Day', and we were spoilt with such beautiful sunshine, which added to the joys of being able to get back outdoors again. The ladies were thrilled to visit our popular local garden centre, to enjoy a spot of shopping, followed by refreshments in the delightful restaurant.

The trips were fantastic and everyone truly enjoyed them.

Australia Day

Celebrating Australia Day was a huge success. With a variety of beach themed games, refreshments and fancy dress. Residents enjoyed getting into the spirit and had a wonderful time socialising and enjoying each other’s company.
