Activities at Newton House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Newton House Activities Team
Amanda, Sabrina, Karen and Jill make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Newton House. They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to Newton House and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.

Halloween at Newton House
We’ve had so much fun today with our fabulous friends from Sweet Angels Childcare Service, with our very own Halloween Party. Everyone looked amazing in their fabulous costumes!
A spooktacular morning of dancing, delicious cakes, made by our incredible catering team, lots of yummy sweet treats, and not forgetting the children singing their lovely goodbye song at the end of the party.
Animal Therapy
Residents had such an amazing day with a lovely visit from DB Animal Therapy this morning.
Residents loved getting to see and interact with lots of different animals and some were very excited about getting to hold a snake for the first time!
Animals always bring so much joy to our residents and it’s so wonderful to see when we have them visit the home.
Gentleman’s Club
Our weekly gentleman’s club runs every Friday in the coffee lounge, giving the gents time to get together for a good variety of games, including cards & dominoes, whilst enjoying a nice cold beer of their choice. It’s wonderful to see the success of the club grow, with new faces every week.
Theatre Trip
Residents have enjoyed 2 wonderful evening trips out to the Guildhall arts centre to see the spectacular ‘Beauty & the Beast’ performance created by the Chantry Dance Company.
We were delighted to be able to residents to watch the show, as they had previously enjoyed visits to watch the performance whist in the rehearsal stage
Michael said ‘Ive not been to the theatre for many years, its brought back lots of memories, I thoroughly enjoyed tonight’.
Fun in the Garden
We’ve had a fun afternoon enjoying the hot weather. Residents enjoyed a mini garden party with music, balloon tennis, bubble sensory, fruit kebabs and ice creams!
Steve Carmel
We’ve had another fun filled day at Newton House with live music from the fabulous Steve Carmel and lots more ice creams! Mr C was absolutely chuffed at being given his own microphone to sing along to some of his favourite songs!
