Activities at Newton House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Newton House Activities Team
Amanda, Sabrina, Karen and Jill make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Newton House. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to Newton House and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.

Life at Newton House Care Home
Gentleman's Club Trip to The Pub
The Gentlemen of Newton House enjoyed a bus trip out to the local Wetherspoons this morning and were treated to a well deserved, delicious bacon sandwich and a beer.
We had a lovely time, reminiscing about our favourite holidays, work life, family and friends.
One of our Gents was delighted to bump into an old dear friend who he hadn’t seen since the 70s, which sparked more reminiscence about his time owning a local garage and fixing his friends car.
Barchester’s Big Quiz of the year!
All over the country our care homes and hospitals linked up for Barchester’s Big Quiz of the year!
Residents tested their knowledge with a variety of questions, from historical humdingers and musical musings to pictorial puzzlers and connective conundrums.
Everyone who participated had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.
Wellbeing Coffee Morning
Staff and residents at Newton House Care Home in Grantham welcomed neighbours and friends from the local community to their free wellbeing coffee morning. With special guest speaker Jo Taylor from ‘Shine Lincs’ and Lauren Mann from ‘Farrow & Friends’
Taking place on Monday 8th January, residents from within the local community had the opportunity to meet Jo Taylor and Lauren Mann and have an uplifting chat over tea or coffee and homemade cakes provided by the home.
General Manager of the home, Sonia Fairhurst said: “Our Community Coffee Morning allows individuals from the local area to meet and connect with one another regularly. It’s a great chance to share stories, make new friends, and of course, enjoy our wonderful spread provided by our hospitality team!’
Floral Beauty
A Floral Beauty. Residents from around the home came together in our coffee lounge, for a morning of flower arranging with some beautiful flowers that were kindly donated by a member of the local community.
Not only did they look beautiful but they smelt beautiful too – a perfect sensory sensation!
The arrangements that were made were then placed in residents rooms whom are nursed in bed, they were delighted to receive such a kind and thoughtful gift from their friends within Newton House.
New Years Eve Karaoke
Newton House saw in 2024 in style as our residents, family members and colleague came together to celebrating the incoming New Year with an afternoon of karaoke, music and refreshments!
Residents from across the home came together to enjoy our New Year celebrations, and tucked into some delicious beverages and cakes prepared by our marvellous team in the kitchen.
Happy New Year!
Meet The Reindeers
Across our homes we got into the Christmas spirit of things by joining a festive live virtual experience, led by Des and Kelly from Performing Pets.
Our residents were thrilled to meet the charming furry friends and get up close and personal with the reindeers. We certainly learnt some interesting facts about the animals and had a fantastic time.
