Activities at Oaklands Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Oaklands Care Home
Visiting our sister home - Hilton Park
Residents from Oaklands were lucky enough to be invited to our sister home, Hilton park, to see some very special visitors. Kristoff the rabbit and Alfie the pony with his sparkly shoes. The residents and families thoroughly enjoyed seeing the animals inside, Pet therapy is a fantastic resource to have within a care home, we look forward to more visits. Thank you Hilton Park for having us!
A Visit from Ivy
Pat dog Ivy visits us twice a month and the joy she brings our residents is un-measurable, other than the smile you can see on John's face. Pets are a great form of therapy for people living in care homes and it’s so important we try our best to facilitate this within the home.
Cambridgeshire Volunteer Bikers
We were fortunate enough to be on the list for a visit from the Cambridgeshire volunteer bikers, who came to visit Sunday dressed as Santa’s delivering mince pies and other goodies. The guys to took to chat with residents who were keen to look at the bikes and staff were very excited to sit on one of the bikes, as way of a thank you we have invited them back in the new year for bacon sarnies.
Remembrance Day
Here at Oaklands, we held a remembrance service with our Vicar, Sue Giles, along with some children from the local primary schools. It gave us all the chance to reflect and remember.
Paying our respects
Residents and staff paid their respects to our late Queen by laying flowers at the Queens Jubilee statue in Newmarket.
