Activities at Ouse View Care Home
We understand that the people we will be supporting will have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we won’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our activities team will be dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events will be organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active.
We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities.
Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love. We also enjoy our regular clubs, virtual events and varied life enrichment programme.

Life at Ouse View Care Home
Wine Tasting Live Event
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Ouse View care home in Fulford were treated to a wine tasting masterclass hosted by Nick Parker and Lee Isaacs from Unity Wines. Wine can be a complicated subject and Unity Wines aims to help people navigate the different styles on offer in order to find the perfect wines for all of its customers.
Residents at Ouse View loved the fresh crackers, cheese and grapes whilst exploring a selection of reds, whites and rose wines. Wine not!
Last Night of the Proms
We celebrated Last Night of the Proms virtually with members of English National Ballet’s Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Music Director Gavin Sutherland.
We listened and danced along as members of the orchestra took us on a magical, musical journey. English National Ballet Philharmonic is made up of many of the country’s top musicians, and boasts considerable experience in all forms of music-making. With insights and anecdotes into what it takes to conduct an orchestra for a world-class ballet company, this special concert got our feet tapping, arms waving and hearts singing!
It was a wonderful experience, enjoyed by all.
Summer Sunshine
Here at Ouse View care home in Fulford Residents are enjoying the sunshine out on the Balcony. Our Residents are happy being outside, watering plants and playing puzzle games whilst enjoying a spot of tea!
Scottish Designs live event with V&A Dundee
We had a lovely time joining Becca Clark and James Wylie – members of V&A Dundee’s exhibitions team – as they took us on a virtual tour of the museum’s incredible Scottish Design Galleries.
We were introduced to the wide range of unique objects at the galleries from architecture and engineering, jewellery and textiles to theatre and their fascinating stories.
And we were able to learn more about the importance of all objects in telling the rich and varied history of Scottish design.
It was a lovely talk, enjoyed by all.
Happy Birthday to Ouse View!
Ouse View is celebrating it's birthday today, one year ago today Pauline Hodgson opened the doors to the first resident. Residents are having afternoon tea and cake this afternoon to celebrate and they will be celebrating next month with relatives too at their birthday party.
Garden Centre Trip
Ouse View Residents took a visit to Brunswick Garden centre on the Minibus last week. Residents enjoyed coffee and cake and a look around at the lovely flowers, making a few purchases for the grounds back at Ouse View.
