Activities at Paternoster House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

The Paternoster House Gardening Club Continues To Delight
Phase 1 and Phase 2 of our Gardening Club are now complete but we still have a grand finale planned! Residents and staff have been working together to fill our tubs, flower beds, pots and hanging baskets with beautiful plants, many of which have been kindly donated by supportive families as well as our local Tesco store.

International Dance Day
This afternoon we celebrated International Dance Day with the talented A.I.M Academy Of Dance.
A.I.M provided a wonderful showcase of song and dance for our residents, family members and staff tp enjoy. We all had a great afternoon and as you can see it was a full house with lots of applause!
Look forward to welcoming these fantastic dancers back very soon

Pudding Club
On a wet afternoon here in Waltham Abbey, we enjoyed a taste of Italy.
Our residents, family members and staff enjoyed Tiramisu and Orange Polenta Cake, which was prepared by our talented chef Sam.
Having a theme also gave conversation of all the places our residents had visited and more ideas for future Pudding Club events. To join us and taste the delights of our desserts, we meet on the last Thursday of each month at 3pm in our cafe.

Pygmy Goats Visit Paternoster House
The always popular Performing Pets, and their wonderful furry friends delighted residents and staff alike once again! Pygmy goats Toffee and Buddy were a huge hit with everyone at Paternoster House.
Animal therapy has extensive social and psychological benefits, and we ensure that all our residents are able to enjoy meeting a wide range of new animals every month.

103rd Birthday For William Continued
Yesterday our lovely resident William celebrated his 103rd Birthday and celebrated in style.
William's Birthday started with a visit from 30 children from Hillhouse Primary school who sung Happy Birthday to him.
William had one special request, which was to have dressed crab for lunch as he had never tried it! Well of course our chef was only to happy to help and William tucked into his special crab lunch as requested!
William then spent the afternoon surrounded by his family as members of the public continued to drop cards off throughout the day. As his special day drew to a close. William sat opening a whopping 132 Birthday cards from various people in our community. Many of whom he has never met. William even received a card from Australia.

103rd Birthday for William
We recently celebrated a very special Birthday for our lovely resident William who received an early birthday greeting when he had a visit from The Mayor of Waltham Jeane Lea to celebrate his 103rd Birthday
William, who had a number of miniature Baileys lined up on his chest of drawers in his room, was quick to point out that 11am is his usual time for his favourite drink
There was smiles all round as William laughed and shared some special war memories with the Mayor and even offered her a Baileys
Councillor Jeane Lea said: It was an honour meet William on his special day and visit paternoster again
