Activities at Paternoster House Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Paternoster House Care Home
Gifts from the Community
We collected a lovely donation from Michelle on behalf of Waltham Abbey Tesco. This included sweets, treats and toiletries for our amazing staff and residents. We would like to say a massive thank you from all of us here at Paternoster House
A Kind Donation
Paternoster House received a lovely donation from a lovely lady called Megan, who is a local Avon representative. The package included a wide range of bubble baths, hand creams and hand sanitising gels. Staff and residents are very grateful for the ongoing community support shown to our home at this time.
The Rainbow Tree
Residents and staff came together to create a lovely rainbow tree. We hung inspiring words and quotes to uplift each other and bring some sunshine to our home.
Messages of Kindness
We would like to say a special thank you Upshire Primary School and the year 3 students at Theydon Boys Primary for their lovely bright pictures, poems and uplifting letters that they sent to Paternoster House for our residents and staff to look at, read and enjoy. We have used their wonderful creations to brighten up our home by displaying them for all to see.
Events & Activities in March
Paternoster enjoyed a Valentine's event that included live musical entertainment from the '50s and '60s. Above is a picture of local resident who came along to enjoy our 'Don’t Dine Alone initiative, where we invite older people from the community to come and enjoy lunch with us. We had lovely feedback from the event!
Performing Pets
The home received a lovely visit from Performing Pets. Residents enjoyed a cuddle with the cute bunnies and looking at all the bright colours on the budgies.
This pet therapy session was very successful, as a range of sensory needs have been met. We are all looking forward to seeing them again very soon
