Activities at Paternoster House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Gardening Season

Residents enjoyed a bus outing to the Epping in bloom organisation. The activity enabled residents and people from the local community to come together and to take care of the beautiful gardens. It was a good day for socialising and spending time together.

Community Outing

Community Outing

Residents enjoyed a community bus outing to Wolden Garden Centre in Cruise Hill, where they picked a range of flowers and vegetables to plant in our sensory gardens.

Easter Activities

Residents have been getting creative for Easter by making cards and decorating bonnets with a range of brightly coloured materials. We also enjoyed Easter treats, including chocolate and hot cross buns.

Well done to our Woodlands community for winning the bonnet competition this year, and a big thank you to the residents pictured for modelling our unique designs.

New Kids on the Block

At the end of March, we combined a visit from the local school children and Blackwater Alpacas & Pygmy Goats. This combination of alternative pet therapy and social interaction was a great success. The children and residents really enjoyed the sensory aspect whilst stroking and holding some baby goats.

Story Time!

Children from a local school came to visit residents at Paternoster House, and really enjoyed reading to them!

Out & About
