Activities at Paternoster House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Paternoster House Care Home
Out & About
We enjoyed a trip out to Van Hages on 28th February. We visited the garden centre, did a bit of window shopping and rounded off the trip with some tea and cakes in a cafe.
Singing for the Brain
Residents enjoyed a community bus outing to attend 'Singing for the Brain', which is a singing group for people living with dementia, their family and carers. It is a relaxed and supportive environment that is funded by the Alzheimer's Society. We really enjoy attending these sessions and watching the positive response and participation from everyone.
Community Outing
This is one of our residents enjoying a community bus outing to the local town centre. He is very passionate about movies and computer games and loves to add to his vast collection.
Honouring the Fallen
This is a display that was created by residents, children from the local Sunshine Nursery and our regular volunteers to commemorate Remembrance Day. Each poppy was cut out individually and glued on to a dress, and this is the superb outcome.
Gardening Club
Residents have been growing tomatoes, leeks aubergines and cabbages. We have a regular Gardening Club on a Wednesday afternoon, where we water and weed and generally look after the garden. Due to its success, we have now been given another flower bed. We are currently working alongside a local school to create a memory garden for residents.
Pony Therapy
We were joined recently by the pet therapy ponies, Rosie & Bonnie, who are regular visitors to Paternoster House. The magical miniature ponies are 28 inches tall and very gentle. We are already looking forward to their next visit!
