Activities at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Rebecca O’Donnell
Hi, my name is Rebecca O’Donnell. I am head of Activities for Prestbury Beaumont. I have only been here for a short time and in that time, I have worked in various departments, including care, laundry and housekeeping.
In that time, I got to know all of our residents very well, which has helped me have a better understanding of their needs and how to support them in this role whilst ensuring they receive a fulfilling experience.
I am from the Cheshire area. I have been with my partner for nearly 20 years. We have four daughters, 1 grandson, dogs and granddogs and a horse we all adore. I like to travel and see new places, and I am looking forward to working here for a long time and furthering my skills.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Christmas Party
To celebrate the festive occasion, our residents and staff got together for a Christmas party with fun-filled day of activities and live entertainment.
Everyone was specially dressed for the party with colourful themed jumpers and costumes, our residents enjoyed a variety of chocolatey treats and refreshments, prepared by the hospitality team, who were hard at work making sure that a great time was had by all – it really was a team effort!

Long service celebrated
Colleague Carole Rodgers has received a prestigious 15-Year Service Award in celebration of working at Barchester Healthcare for 15 years.
Cath Ritchie, General Manager said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 15-years of loyal service with Carole. She has demonstrated her dedication and loyalty to this home and its residents year after year. I speak for all of us here at Prestbury Beaumont when I say that I’m looking forward to many more years of working with Carole!”

A very special advent
We all love Christmas here at Prestbury Beaumont and what’s not to love about an advent calendar especially when behind the door is a ‘gin and tonic’ treat!
Excitement is building and we counting down until the big day itself in a very special way as we have an advent calendar full of activities and special treats and behind each door of our specially designed advent is a surprise, each day one of our residents will be opening a door and they don’t know what to expect!
One resident has remarked "Our calendar looks very good and it fits in with the festive mood."

Handmade Christmas cards
Residents of Prestbury Beaumont joined forces and gathered together to express their artistic talents by crafting beautiful handmade Christmas cards. This heart-warming activity allowed them to create personalised cards to send to their family and friends.
Filled with excitement and enthusiasm, our residents spent a delightful morning carefully selecting the perfect designs for their Christmas cards. Each card was handmade with love and attention to detail, reflecting the unique personalities of our residents.
We would like to wish all our families and friends a very Merry Christmas!

Decorating our home for Christmas
In preparation for the upcoming Christmas festivities, residents and colleagues have been busy decorating the home with colourful themed ornaments, lights and baubles.
Our residents had fun creating the home’s Christmas display and got involved in arts and crafts sessions to paint baubles and make the beautiful decorations for our Christmas trees.
We held a special lights switch-on ceremony, where we turned on the Christmas lights at the home. Everyone had an amazing time and we are all looking forward to the holidays.

Gardening club
Residents at Prestbury Beaumont recently enjoyed their weekly gardening club, and have been busy preparing for spring with lots of planting.
Residents were led by the care and activities team at the home to select, plant and plan the herb garden and top up the feed for the wildlife in the gardens at the home.
General Manger, Cath Ritchie said: “One of our favourite activities in the home is our gardening club, not only do the residents get a lovely day of gardening but also enjoy the beautiful colours in the garden as they grow over the coming months.”
