Activities at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community
Every dog has it's day!
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Prestbury Beaumont care home in Prestbury, Macclesfield got up close and personal with some furry friends when they celebrated all the wonderful things about man’s best friend on National Dog Day, August 26th.
National Dog Day is an annual event to raise awareness of the number of dogs in rescue centres and to encourage people to adopt dogs from shelters and dog homes.
Residents had a brilliant time at Prestbury Beaumont learning about different breeds and their characteristics, reminiscing about pets and finding out fascinating facts about dogs and puppies.
Fair raises funds for charity
We all had a fantastic afternoon at our Summer Fair! We raised money for Cancer Research with our traditional sweet stall sales.
We had a coconut shy, ring toss, hook a duck and ice cream cart! All our residents friends and family came, together with members of our local community to celebrate with us!
Floral displays
One of our residents has been out enjoying our homes spectacular floral displays with our Head Gardener Chris.
Alan was overjoyed to go out and see our newly repaired water feature; together with the flowers we have grown with our residents in our Gardening Club! Our home has never looked so beautiful and it’s all down to our ‘green fingered’ residents hard work!
Yorkshire Day
On the 1st of August we celebrated Yorkshire Day with all things ‘Yorkshire’ this included staff wearing flat caps, drinking Yorkshire Tea, eating traditional Yorkshire dishes. We had a themed fact discussion, followed by a pop quiz testing residents on what they had learnt! We had photos of famous Yorkshire landmarks to look at; this prompted one of residents who was from York, to show us her beautiful fireguard that was crafted by the same glass smith that worked on the restoration of York Minster!
A trip along the Canal
Residents and staff boarded the Mary Sunley Narrow Boat for a relaxing afternoon taking in the Cheshire countryside!
We stopped off for delicious fish and chips on the way, had a wonderful time feeding the ducks and looking at the different boats. We are all so excited to do a trip like this again!
Herstory of Mayfair
Residents across our services had a fantastic time joining Mandy Morrow for a virtual walking tour to learn about the ‘Herstory’ of Mayfair. The Mayfair of Nightingales may be long gone but it still holds a 20th century charm. Birthplace to the late Queen Elizabeth II, home to one of WWII's most decorated female war heroes and a tale of a wealthy Aristocrat and one of France's favourite designers.
We were delighted to take a walk down memory lane and discover stories from one of London's most iconic areas. The experience was truly enjoyed by all.
