Activities at Queens Court Care Home
Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, providing fun and companionship, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained and that life at Queens Court is fun and active. Throughout the home, there is a choice of lounges, which have been designed for people who enjoy socialising and love making new friends. Music therapy, speakers of interest, events, cinema screenings and family events are offered regularly, as well as the Book Club or Poetry Corner, for those who enjoy quieter activities. Our social programme is varied and exciting and is available seven days a week. You can be as busy as you like. Our friends of Queens Court regularly support our special events and activities at the home, which include trips to the seaside and National Trust site

Pop Up Restaurant BIG Success!
LOCAL CARE HOME HOSTS COMMUNITY POP UP RESTAURANT
Staff, residents, relatives and the local community came together at Queens Court Care Home to enjoy a community pop up restaurant that was held at the home on Wednesday 7th August.
The hospitality team at Queens Court also invited local resident Meg Southwood who joined with other talented chefs and our award winning hospitality team to produce a delicious meal of Asian fusion food favourites which were enjoyed by everyone who came to the event.
Meg offered to cook for friends, family, staff and residents of Queens Court. We also invited members of the local community to join us as a thank you to amazing support that they give us: South Park Gardens, Wimbledon Quarter, Hold Trinity Church, Wimbledon Police station and Carlton Theatre.
Resident, PK, said, “the pop up restaurant was a care home extravaganza!”
Shaaron Caratella, General Manager at the home, said: “Staff at Queens Court are dedicated to making sure that the home is a hub of the local community, and this event, along with all their hard work, has definitely paid off. It was a resounding success!”
Singing Queens Court
Wonderful children from St. Marys Primary School visited us today to sing for us before the summer break begins.
it was amazing two classes and 6 teachers visited us and sang outside the house our residents were very happy to see so many children and had great conversations with them.
it's never too late to learn!
Residents of Queens Court practice their French language twice a month, residents who are fluent have a chance to talk, and those who have never had experience with French have a great opportunity to learn new words in English.
The lessons bring the residents closer and get to know each other better.
Wimbledon 2024!
What a great two weeks Wimbledon 2024!
Every year it is an important time for Queens Court because our house is located in the middle of Wimbledon.
We love the atmosphere associated with Wimbledon, our residents who are fans have a lot of attractions related to Wimbledon, starting with visiting Wimbledon Village, which is beautifully decorated and the window displays look wonderful, a visit to a nearby farm to pick fresh strawberries, and, of course, daily trips to the match on the big screen which it is located 2 minutes from our house.
Of course, quizzes and word search with strawberries and cream everything about Wimbledon.
Senior Health and Fitness Day
Queens Court in Wimbledon got active for Senior Health and Fitness Day.
Residents participated in a variety of activities throughout the day designed for a wide range of physical abilities, including yoga, armchair exercises.
Created to inspire senior-friendly physical activity, the national day was launched to increase awareness of the importance of remaining active to maintain strong, healthy joints and muscles, and to encourage diet and lifestyle changes for an overall improvement to wellbeing, and illness prevention.
A special guest that day, Tshon Carnegie from Get Fit with Us, led a conversation about physical health and a variety of activities, and led a stretching exercise session for our residents.
The chef prepared delicious and healthy snacks for us. It was a very healthy Day!
