Activities at Queens Court Care Home
Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, providing fun and companionship, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained and that life at Queens Court is fun and active. Throughout the home, there is a choice of lounges, which have been designed for people who enjoy socialising and love making new friends. Music therapy, speakers of interest, events, cinema screenings and family events are offered regularly, as well as the Book Club or Poetry Corner, for those who enjoy quieter activities. Our social programme is varied and exciting and is available seven days a week. You can be as busy as you like. Our friends of Queens Court regularly support our special events and activities at the home, which include trips to the seaside and National Trust site

Celebrating Dignity
Residents and staff considered the meaning of dignity; several thoughts were discussed, written on leaves and added to the dignity tree. Popular phrases were knowing people’s names, consideration for others and dressing nicely.
Our Resident Ambassador presented the staff with their ‘Badge of Honour’, which was a fob watch, so look out for the staff who are wearing a pink or blue fob watches.
Farewell, Marion!
We will miss Marion, who has been our wonderful hairdresser for over 12 years. Mondays have been a special day in our social programme, as residents used to enjoy coffee, chatting and getting their hair done. She has made several friends here and has promised to come back and see us.
Aperitif with Lottie
Lottie has joined us this year as a volunteer to play the keyboard for residents at the weekends. Already she has developed a connection with many of them. Thank you!
Virtual Reality
This activity is extremely popular with residents. They love virtually exploring new areas of the world.
Welcome, Little One
A member of staff recently became a father to his first child. Queens Court surprised him and his family with a hamper filled with baby grows, bibs, chocolate and a bottle of champagne.
Word Games
Residents and staff enjoy regular games of Scrabble here at Queens Court.
