Activities at Red Oaks Care Home
We believe in making a difference to the lives of people living here with us and ensure that we provide a lifestyle full of choice and stimulation that is centred around each resident here at Red Oaks. This includes a whole host of varied activities, together with regular trips out around the region, taking full advantage of the home’s minibus. Our aim is to enable each person we support to continue to do the things they enjoy for as long as they possibly can.
Sue McHoy
My role as activity coordinator at Red Oaks is ensuring that all residents have a full and varied activity program. Using our getting to know me books and knowing our residents backgrounds develop our activity program. Having lived in Henfield for the past 10 years I enjoy assisting residents maintaining and forming new the community connections.
I am passionate about my role, the part is having fun and making people smile.

Life at Red Oaks Care Home
Jubilee Celebrations
Smiles and laughter at the our fabulous Jubilee Celebration
A wonderful day was had by residents, staff , families, friends and our fantastic community at the Jubilee celebration, with the sun shining, cream teas eaten and family and friends spending a glorious day together.
A big thank you to the Aspiration School of Dance for the wonderful show, Henfield Football Club for the fun and games and the Henfield Brownies for helping to serve the teas.
All enjoyed taking pictures in the 'Queens Carriage' made by the Henfield Shed.
The best way to start the day
What a lovey welcome I received on arrival at Red Oaks Care Home this morning.
This is Tony Crowly , one of our wonderful residents. Tony is registered blind.
Tony however serenades the residents and staff each morning over breakfast, playing beautiful music on our piano.
Thank you Tony, what a way to start the day.
International Nurses Day Celebrations
Here at Red Oaks we are blessed with some truly amazing Nurses and we were thrilled to celebrate them on International Nurses Day .
Our wonderful residents and other team members showed their appreciation by holding a sing along accompanied by one of our very talented residents on the piano.
Our Nurses and resident ex nurses also received a thank you note from our Chief Executive and Director of Nursing along with some sweet treats.
Our Chick's
Residents and staff here at Red Oaks care home thoroughly enjoyed hatching chicks and watching them grow. It was an amazing experience. However they just grew so very quickly.
So, it gives us great pleasure to announce that “Our Chicks” now have a new home with Dr Lamb and her family .
Easter Arts
This week some of our residents have made a brilliant start at making some decorations for Easter.
One of the benefits of crafting is it gives older adults the ability to be creative. Being involved in arts and craft is proven to improve innovative thinking and can help boost their cognitive health as well.
What a bonus when the end result looks so good.
It's all about the Training
A huge congratulations to Carlos ,who recently passed his Commis Chef exams .He is pictured here on the left alongside our Head Chef Leigh who has supported him through his training . Well done Carols
