Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Jane Ritchie
Hello, my name is Jane and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Rose Lodge and I have been here since 2010 .
My role is to engage and stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. I want to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.
Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that I am passionate about, It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we do with them. We enjoy creating new and special memories together.

Life at Rose Lodge Care Home
Burns Night
We had a great time celebrating Burns Night here at the home. Residents had lots of fun creating shortbread for the evening celebrations which also involved the traditional piping in the haggis. A wonderful evening was had by all!
Banjo Fun at Rose Lodge
Residents had a fantastic morning recently as we were visited by the Banjo man. We all loved singing and moving along to a number of favourites and some of our residents even had a go themselves!
Music to Movement
Residents joined in for their regular 'Music to Movement' class this week, moving their arms and upper bodies along to a number of memorable hit songs from the past. After the class everyone was quite tired so we relaxed with a cup of tea and biscuit!
Gingerbread Men
Residents of Rose Lodge took part in making and decorating gingerbread men and icing them too. Lovely time was had by all.
Christmas Wreath Making
The residents put their skills to a test and created beautiful festive wreaths. The session was truly enjoyed by all and the wreaths are displayed around the home for everyone to enjoy.
Christmas cake competition
Residents of Rose Lodge have taken part in Barchester’s annual Christmas cake competition. The homes entry is called ‘Candy cane cake’. It is a rich fruit cake with marzipan and icing, decorated with candy canes, gingerbread men, snowflakes and novelty Christmas item. Everyone has so much fun and are looking forward to cutting a slice!
