Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Jane Ritchie

Head of Activities

Hello, my name is Jane and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Rose Lodge and I have been here since 2010 .

My role is to engage and stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. I want to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that I am passionate about, It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we do with them. We enjoy creating new and special memories together.

Life at Rose Lodge Care Home

,

Flower Day

On 18th January, we celebrated National Flower Day by having flower quizzes and arts and crafts sessions, where residents could either colour in some pictures or make fabric flowers that we will later turn into brooches.

,

Australia Day

On the 21st January, we honoured Australia Day, where we listened to Australian aboriginal music and made a boomerang collage using pictures we had either coloured in or cut out.  One resident found colouring in really soothing and was very proud of their work.

Embracing Technology

A resident enjoyed the afternoon writing a letter on the computer. She previously worked in an office; she said this was so much fun!

,

Christmas Spirit

On Friday 17th December, residents joined in making centre pieces for Christmas day for the tables.

Emneth Nursery children also came to Rose Lodge and handed a memory stick that featured the children singing Christmas carols, and a box of short bread for residents .

,

Christmas Treats

On Monday 14th December, residents enjoyed making & cooking their Christmas biscuit tree with lots of icing and Christmas toppings.

,

Residents' Wreaths

On Thursday 10th December, residents enjoyed the morning making Christmas reefs and baskets.
