Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Jane Ritchie

Head of Activities

Hello, my name is Jane and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Rose Lodge and I have been here since 2010 .

My role is to engage and stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. I want to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that I am passionate about, It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we do with them. We enjoy creating new and special memories together.

Singalong Sunday

Residents look forward to their monthly Karaoke session. We have residents who not only enjoy singing, but actually get rather competitive! The sessions always end up with residents and staff on their feet, belting out the Karaoke classics and dancing around.

Thank you to K&J Catt Entertainment for making this happen for our residents!

Arts and Crafts

This week our residents enjoyed a morning of arts and crafts with art organisation Gratitude 43. With our upcoming trips to the seaside we choose a beach themed craft morning and the residents really showed off their creative skills.

Summer Fete

We had a fantastic traditional summer fete this week! Visitors included family, friends, supporters of the home and along with VIP guests Deputy Mayor Peter Human and Deputy Mayoress Janet Tanfield. The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress were kind enough to join in our fun and met with residents to discuss our lovely home.

The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and the day was a huge success.

Picnic

When the sun is shining, what better way to enjoy the day than to get together with friends and have a picnic in the park? We played games, ate wonderful food, lazed in the sunshine and enjoyed some live music.

Father's Day

On Father’s Day the residents enjoyed entertainment by K & J Catt. All our resident fathers received a gift from Rose Lodge to celebrate fatherhood. Resident's families came for a really special themed Father’s Day lunch and later we enjoyed a cheese and wine tasting class.

Jubilee Celebrations

Our Jubilee celebrations involved inviting in every resident's family and friends to join us for the whole day!

We all enjoyed live music, traditional street party games, a buffet-style tea and had a huge community party in honour of HRH Queen Elizabeth.
