Activities at Ross Court Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Ross Court Care Home
Walks in the Shade
The weather is hot, but there is plenty of shade in our lovely grounds so we started the day with a morning walk. Residents also enjoyed some flower arranging, this is always a popular activity all to the sounds of the 60s. Afternoon tea was ice lollies so we could cool down.
Age UK Visit and National Beer Day!
Every day really is different at Ross Court, this morning we were delighted to welcome Pam and Alison from Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire. Pam spoke to residents about the work of Age UK and gave out a number of information leaflets including one on the attendance allowance and pensions. Alison then spoke about their digital inclusion project which goes through using video calls, e-mails and online shopping. Alison will return with some of the Age UK volunteers to deliver the digital inclusion programme.
In the afternoon we celebrated National Beer Day! Residents sampled a number of beers, Bill enjoyed Hobgoblin Gold, Rosemary didn't enjoy them as much! It was a fun tasting session and Hayley, our Activities Coordinator had put together some interesting facts about beer which residents really liked hearing all about.
Singing and Poetry in the Sun
It was a wonderful sunny afternoon at Ross Court with lots going on. With the start of Ascot some residents watched a few races, we then enjoyed a few poems by Wordsworth outside in the beautiful gardens, followed by an impromptu sing along, with songs including Que Sera Sera, Delilah and many others.
Healthy Eating Week
It is the British Nutrition Foundation Healthy Eating Week. Residents enjoyed a talk on different foods and how they benefited the body, everyone found this very interesting. We also spoke about the benefits of drinking water especially now the warmer weather is here. In line with the healthy theme we also had a brilliant session of yoga / wake and shake where we had a few new residents and family members taking part and who very much enjoyed this little work out.
We Made the Papers!
It was a relaxed day at Ross Court after all the excitement of the weekend! We enjoyed our morning coffee in the sun, then the paper arrived and the excitement continued as Rhona and Stella were delighted their photo was in the paper of them celebrating the Jubilee!
Ross Court Celebrates the Platinum Jubilee in Style
We celebrated the Platinum Jubilee in style at Ross Court, what a fantastic afternoon. It was wonderful to welcome family, friends and neighbours to join in the celebrations. The residents enjoyed music from Darryl after their traditional fish and chips. There was lots of fun for all with a bouncy castle and popcorn and slushy machines. There was a delicious afternoon tea prepared by our chef Darren and is team. Thank you to the whole team for making it such a memorable day.
