Activities at Ross Court Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hug the Home with Bunting Judging

It was a very productive morning at Ross Court as residents spent time judging and selecting the winners for our Hug the Home with Bunting competition.  It was not an easy decision with all the entries decorated so beautifully.  Thank you so much to the children of the schools who entered, the residents have loved having the bunting on display.

Hug The Home with Bunting

Ross Court are really enjoying the arrivial of the bunting for our "Hug the Home with Bunting" competition.  We have displayed it around the home, with each bunting a hug from a child to our residents.  It is going to be very difficult to select winners from such wonderful designs and colour.

Flowers and Gardens

We all love flowers inside and outside of Ross Court, we know our residents love receiving flowers and Morrisons kindly donate flowers to the home for our flower arranging.

As we head towards the warmer weather we have also been planting in our gardens as well as adding interest including wind chimes, and residents helped to make a sun catcher.

A fascinating Life

Ross Court residents had one of the most interesting afternoons today, a resident gentleman, named Mr Bill Ramsden, gave the group a wonderful talk on his life.  Age 6,  Bill was rescued from the Quetta earthquake in 1935 and he talked about his homeward bound travels after the devastation.  He also told us about his life as a black rat traffic police officer in Putney London. He explained to us how he dealt with fatalities on the roads and railways in his day.

The group had Q and A time with Bill after his talk accompanied by tea and cake. Thank you Bill we really appreciate the time you spent entertaining us with your fantastic talk, a true gentleman.
