Activities at Ross Court Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Ross Court Care Home
Police and Gin!
Ross Court residents had an amazing day welcoming 1st CPO Dave and Kirsten from Ross-On-Wye Police Station. The residents interrogated them! Questions included "what's your jurisdiction"," what's crime like in Ross" and many other interesting questions. Thank you so much for your time.
Then we had Gin tasting afternoon, there were lots of different flavours, from Parma Violets to Mediterranean Orange. What a lovely afternoon, enjoyed by all.
Jubilee Preparations
Ross Court residents are getting ready for our platinum jubilee celebrations, we created our own red, white and blue flowers and look forward to making more decorations over the next couple of week. To accompany the creativity residents enjoyed a tipple of Baileys!
Glorious Gardens
The gardens are looking lovely at Ross Court, as we did our afternoon walks residents stopped to weed the raised beds. The sun flowers are growing so the residents put in a few sticks to support them. We then went into the conservatory for a relaxing afternoon tea.
Hug the Home with Bunting Competition Winners
Congratulations to all those who won an Easter egg in the Ross Court Hug the Home with Bunting competition. The residents really enjoyed picking the winners and it was wonderful to have the bunting on display around the home. Thank you so much to the schools that participated, Ashfield Park School, Thrupp School and Walford Primary and Nursery School. Hayley the Ross Court Activities Coordinator received a warm welcome from the schools. Head Teacher of Walford, Ms George invited Hayley to their assembly, where the children sang her a song.
Creating a Woodland Trail
Ross Court residents have been working hard with Activities Coordinator Hayley to add to the woodland trail. We look forward to inviting in local nurseries and schools to follow the trail. There are lots of fun and interesting items along the way. The Ross Court grounds are looking amazing - please do stroll around on your next visit, there really is something to see around every corner.
Local MP Jesse Norman Visits Ross Court
Ross Court residents and staff welcomed MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire Jesse Norman to discuss local issues. Residents had a number of questions, some more serious topics such as opportunities for young people in rural Herefordshire, support for farmers and how often Jesse attended Parliament. Some questions were more light hearted as Jesse was at Eton while Boris was there.
Jesse also spoke proudly of his wife, Dame Kate Bingham who was Chair of the Vaccine Task Force that procured and formulated the strategy for the roll out of the Covid Vaccination Programme. Staff and residents alike spoke of how critical the Covid vaccination has been.
Over a lovely afternoon tea, prepared by Darren and his team, conversation flowed and we thank Jesse for his time.
Ross Court recently had a CQC inspection and was deemed good in all areas so also we asked Jesse to be photographed with some of the team celebrating their success.
