Activities at Ross Court Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ross Court at Ross-On-Wye Christmas Fayre

It was a pleasure to meet so many people at Sunday's Ross-on-Wye Christmas Fayre. Barchester Ross Court had a stall in the market place and it was a great start to the festive season with so many people out on what was a cold but beautifully crisp day. Thank you to Ross-On-Wye Town Council for such a well organised events and such helpful stewards.

RSPCA Volunteers Bring Special Visitors to Ross Court

Ross Court would like to thank Bob and Kevin from the RSPCA Herefordshire Branch for visiting the residents with Bryn the golden lurcher and Sky the collie. Bob and Kevin are both volunteers and we are so grateful for them giving their time to visit Ross Court.

Everyone smiled throughout, chatting about their own past pets and asking questions about Bryn and Sky. Peter asked for his photo album from his room to show his previous dogs - our pets bring so many happy memories and it was so interesting to hear about so many different dog breads each with their own personality. The RSPCA is the largest animal welfare charity in the UK, they could not do all the work they do without volunteers, the Hereford branch is run entirely by volunteers - thank you for changing the lives of animals.

Employee of the Month and Promotion

Everyone at Ross Court would like to say a Huge well done to Shaun for being voted October employee of the month.  Shaun has been part of the team since 2015 and is a great asset to Ross Court.  Shaun was nominated because he is dedicated, considerate, kind and always puts our residents needs before anything else, nothing is too much trouble. Well done and thank you for all you do!

We would also like to announce that Shaun has just received a promotion and is now our new head of housekeeping, congratulations Shaun.   Barchester are proud to offer ongoing training and development to all our employees and are always delighted to see team members advance their careers.

Residents Create Poppy Display

Residents have been working hard to make poppies for our remembrance poppy display at Ross Court. The making of the poppies was a time for refection and memories. Lest we forget.
