Activities at Scarborough Hall Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Scarborough Hall Care Home
Exploring the Eden Project
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time exploring the Eden Project virtually - an educational charity and visitor attraction based in Cornwall, featuring sprawling outdoor gardens and breathtaking biomes that house the largest indoor rainforest in the world.
During the session, residents who joined were reconnected with nature through their senses, memories and stories. A big thank you to the community team at the Eden Project for the wonderful event.
Scarborough Castle
On the 16th June we were delighted to take advantage of the Scarborough Castle residents day. Which is a free event in May, June and September, and the residents had an amazing trip out. They had a fabulous time looking over the breath taking views of Scarborough. Jess activities co-coordinator said “everyone had such an amazing time we will definitely have to visit again in September”.
Keeping fit together!
Residents love the Exercise Club on Laughton Suite especially when we use props like the ball, pompoms or bean bag games Eleanor chose Abba as our music to do these to. Michelle hall Head of Care popped in to join us as we were having so much fun. The balls were being passed at such a speed, almost as if we had a few volleyball players in the room.
Flower Power
We enjoyed celebrating British Flower week from the 3rd to 9th June, with lots of colourful flowers. Our Residents craft club enjoyed pressing flowers, which were later used in our card making sessions for Postcards of Kindness.
Life's a picnic
Scarborough Hall Care Home care home in Scarborough Hall went all out for International Picnic Week which is celebrated this year from June 17th-26th. In Preparation for the themed dining experience the craft club created banner and place mats for our table.
Residents were invited to our indoor picnic in the Dementia Cafe. A whole host of freshly baked treats made by head chef Paul helped to get the party started.
Wonders of the ocean
Residents across our services enjoyed a fantastic virtual tour of The Deep, an award-winning aquarium in Hull.
Our residents dived into the underwater world of some fascinating creatures such as sharks, turtles and stingrays.
It was a truly immersive and educational experience that brought the wonders of the ocean right to our screens.
