Activities at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Zoe Grindley

Activities Coordinator

Hello My name is Zoe, I have been in the life enrichment team at Southgate Beaumont since December 2021.

I am originally from Liverpool and moved to London in 1997 after being accepted at Mountview Theatre school. After graduating I worked as an actress and accomplished voiceover artist for many years. I also have a vast amount customer service experience, working in many West End Theatres, as Cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and at Claridges hotel in Mayfair.

Zoe has a passion for making strong connections with people and creating lasting memorable experiences.

My role here at Southgate Beaumont is to ensure our residents lives are packed full of enriching and interesting activity. We provide a wide range of both home led and community led activity for all residents as well as personalised and individual hobby and interest focused events. Our programme ranges from cocktail making, to art history talks, exercise sessions as well as fine dining dinner parties catered for by our chefs

I have made lots of lovely new friends at Southgate Beaumont care home and look forward to making many more.

Pet therapy with Toby.

We are very lucky to have a weekly therapy dog called Toby, who has been visiting our home now for over 3 years. There are so many residents who are animal lovers, who grew up with dogs and miss their pets terribly.Toby has such a gentle nature and gives great comfort and lots of love to everyone he meets. We are very grateful to Tobys lovely owner who also has built some lovely friendships with our residents over the years.

We love to shop!

A great opportunity for residents to go shopping in the comfort of their own home, with a visit from Debbie’s pop up shop!

Such a great selection of clothes to choose from and it really was great fun looking at all the different styles.

She will be back towards the end of summer with her lovely winter collection.

Our amazing Mark has won Divisional Volunteer of the year!

Our amazing Mark has won Divisional Volunteer of the year!

Mark , who has volunteered at Southgate Beaumont since 2008 has won “Divisional Volunteer of the year” and will now go through to the National finals in October.

This award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence. Our care home is like a family and our volunteers are a part of that family, loved and valued by everyone. It takes a special kind of person and Mark is exactly that, he is an absolutely gem and so valued by us all. Marks gives so much of his time to help others and we are so lucky to have him.

Mark said: “I first got to know Southgate Beaumont when my aunt made it her home. The Beaumont management and care staff were exceptional and she had a very enjoyable time during her 4 year plus stay. Subsequently, due to this very positive experience - and the fact that I had time to spare and my caring nature! - I was keen to offer help and assistance with supporting activities and events for the Home on a voluntary basis. I have met so many wonderful people and really enjoy and I am so overwhelmed to have received this award.”

We wish Mark the best of luck for the finals, although to us he is already a winner!”
