Activities at Station Court Care Home
Activities make up the most important part of all our days, and at Station Court we ensure there are a variety of social events that reflect the individual interests and capabilities of people we support. All group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self worth. All of our team are committed to supporting a full activities programme within the home.

Hi, my name is Carly and I am the homes Activities Coordinator. I joined the home in 2011. I am passionate about our enhancing our residents daily life and delivering a person centred life enrichment activity programme is very important to me to ensure that our residents continue to lead fulfilling lives doing things that they want to and enjoy. Our programme is varied from excursions out on the mini bus ensuring our residents are connected to their local community, hosting events here in the home, virtual events and themed days – no day is the same!

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Station Court Care Home
Jubilee Celebrations
At Station Court we went all out fully celebrating the 4 days of the Platinum Jubilee. We began our celebrations with a garden party, with the amazing Laura Jayne performing! Everyone was treated to Jubilee themed refreshments and of course we loved a sing a long and good dance, it was so wonderful to have so many families joining us too, an amazing day bringing everyone together! On day 2 residents on memory lane got their dancing shoes on with the brilliant Irish Geordie band Belta Reivers performing at our prosecco party. We then took part in Derby Day on day 3 with strawberries and cream and Pimms of course! Residents placed their bets and winners were delighted with their prizes. To finish the weekend celebrations on a high our ladies made beautiful flower arrangements for a big street style jubilee themed afternoon tea. A truly brilliant weekend was had by all bringing everyone together as we celebrate the longest reigning monarch – our Majesty the Queen.
National Trust talk
Our homes had a fantastic time joining National Trust Talks Service team at Cliveden House for an inspirational talk on Nancy Astor – the first woman to take a seat in the House of Commons.
Our residents had the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating life of Nancy and her political career. As the first women MP, she experienced both attention and scandal throughout her life, which led to many triumphs and numerous disasters. The talk was truly enjoyed by all.
Celebrating carers week
Happy Carers Week! We would like to take this great opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful carers here at the home.
We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.
Floral decorations with Ferndown
Our homes had a lovely time joining Sue and Nicole from Ferndown Florist for an intriguing flower arrangement workshop in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Our residents enjoyed a wonderful virtual demonstration and got inspired to create their own flower posies for our Jubilee displays. Our home will be specially decorated for the upcoming festivities. Stay tuned.
Crystal Palace Chronicles
We had a lovely time joining Graham Whitlock for an exciting virtual event to discuss his book ‘The Crystal Palace Chronicles: Star of Nimrod’.
Our residents were thrilled to find out more about the book and the fictional character Joe, who went on a rollercoaster adventure travelling back in time to the heyday of Victorian Crystal Palace.
Everyone had lots of fun during the virtual talk, as Graham took them on a clever and hilarious adventure. A great time was had by all.
World Cocktail Day
We have had a fabulous Friday creating our own cocktails and mocktail drinks! Using a mix of fresh fruits and herbs awakening our senses with strong scents, and tastes Everyone then enjoyed a tasting session with choices of Cranberry sangria, pineapple punch and tipsy tropical crush
