Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco
Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.
As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Birthday Girl -103
Today we all got together to celebrate Elena's 103rd birthday and what a fabulous party we had.
Elena was joined by family, residents, staff members and relatives.
Elena was absolutely thrilled by the the kindness of how many people joined in to celebrate the day with her!
Thanks to Thea from Mini Concerts for the fantastic performance! It was a great entertainment for the event that got us dancing and singing! And to the chef who baked a delicious cake that went down very well with a glass of Prosecco.
Happy birthday Elena!

Celebrating Big Birthdays!
Today we've had a very interesting morning with the special visit from some children from the local Eldersfield Primary school.
As two of our residents, Elena and Marion are reaching their 103rd and 104th birthdays very soon, we've challenged the children to look for facts over the 100 years and then visit and present these to them.
The children very kindly prepared two booklets for Elena and Marion and presented them during their visit.
And how interesting they've made these booklets as they found Eldersfield Primary school diary notes from 1920 and 1921 Wow.
We also shared some interesting facts that we've been getting together for a display, talked about hobbies shared stories and got to meet each other a little more.
It was a lovely morning, thank you all for coming!

Mitton WI Coffee Morning
This morning we've welcomed Mitton WI for one of their coffee morning meetings.
Some of our residents enjoyed meeting the ladies, get to know more about what they do and when they meet. We will be taking some of our ladies to the meetings throughout the year.
It was really lovely welcoming you to the home, we look forward to seeing you all again and hoping to work on projects together. We are looking forward to the knitting and crochet sessions that we have planned.

Cubs visit the home
During this week, we've welcomed back the 1st Bredon Cubs. And what great fun we've had together!
We played a variety of games and did a selection of crafts.
There was also time to chat and get to meet each other a little bit more.
Thank you so much to all at the Cubs for coming along and spend the evening with us, we do enjoy seeing you all and cannot wait for the next visit.

International Nurses Day
We celebrated International Nurses Day on Sunday 12th May.
Residents and staff presented Edrianne - the General Manager at Tewkesbury Fields with Flowers and chocolates to show appreciation for her incredible hard work and dedication to the nursing profession.
Happy International Nurses day to all the lovely nurses.

Celebrating 200 years of Cadbury's chocolate
Staff and residents were treated to an afternoon of nostalgia and delicious memories when they were joined by Cadbury archivist Sarah Foden and Brand Manager Connor Gould for a talk from the nation’s favourite chocolate brand on a virtual event.
Sarah and Connor walked the Barchester residents through the story of the brand’s great success from the very first shop to how Cadbury is celebrating its 200th anniversary in 2024. They shared photos from down the years, examples of old packaging and ad campaigns from the Cadbury archive in Bournville.
The carefully selected archive material tells the story of an iconic British brand, this year celebrating its 200th anniversary, that has been part of people’s lives through generations, in moments big and small. The brand’s rich history evoked all kinds of nostalgic memories for the residents who all have their own Cadbury memories.
The staff and residents then opened Cadbury memory boxes where they sent us the Cadbury bars in their old packaging from 1915, 1940, 1961, 1980, 1993, 2003. it was really interesting see the changes in the design
